  • Hi everyone ive not been doing at the moment well im in the midst of making a rail fence quilt. When I can spare five minutes.

My market stall is going extremely well I've gone from selling cross stitch and tapestry kits to hundreds of ball of wool, lace, buttons, ribbon, fabric, wadding, felt, elastic, zips, embroidery thread, knitting looms, cotton and haberdashery. The list is endless lol

I still read all of your posts
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

Excellent as usual, what are you going to do with the dolls, are you keeping them or are they being sold?

They are made to order Rufus.

Glad your stall is doing so well Winnie

Nichelette your baby blanket looks so warm and cosy, just right for the weather ahead.

The 'Duchess' has been received in her new home so I can post a photo of her now. She is tucking into tea and scones as I type!

Is she a peg doll? My mum has made quite a few for my children and they're lovely. My youngest daughter has a prince and a princess, a fairy and a mermaid :D My eldest daughter has a couple too, and she even made my son a copy of his nutcracker (when he was little he loved watching Barbie and the Nutcracker - well the swordfight parts anyway :rotfl:. I found a wooden nutcracker in a shop for him and he wouldn't be parted from it, he even slept with it!)

Just delurking to say I'm dead chuffed with myself for making a dog bed out of an old sheet and duvet and putting in my very first zip. Peanuts to most I'm sure, but I was pleased. Not crafty as such, but am aiming for a step in the right direction.
Although it took longer to work out how to thread the machine and put the bobbin in than it did to sew the blasted thing. :rotfl:Really must summon up the initiative to get it out more than once every couple of years.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Elsien, that is very crafty indeed. You put me to shame, we went and bought a dog bed and like you say, it is just sheets and a zip with some wadding in the middle. I could easily have made it but was very lazy.

Oh well done HMO. I did a stupid thing in the week, I was sorting out some drawers upstairs and found a piece of hessian which had been up there for ages, it was a bit screwed up so I chucked it, then since then I have seen loads of lovely Xmas bits made from it in the shops. I went through my bin but my OH must have emptied it :(

Hi there, do you mind if I jump in with you guys? DH bought me a sewing machine must be 12 years ago now and up until recently I'd hardly used it. In August I went on a sewing course and made a bag, then I made a summer dress and now I'm just working on a cord pinafore for myself. I'm really enjoying it and am learning so much!

You are all making beautiful things and I thought it would be nice for me to join in here, get to know you and share ideas/questions and maybe, if I'm brave, post a few pictures at some point!

I had a rush of blood to my head the other week and bought a Janome overlocker (my sewing machine is Janome and I love it) - plucking up the courage to try unthreading it and rethreading it with the aid of a Craftsy course I got half price. Wish me luck!!!

    See you soon :)
