Two mice all cosy in bed on wintery day with their well read Cheese Recipe book. Now which tasty meal to make for dinner:D

While they are busy choosing they have a bowl of cheesey nibbly snacks to hand!

    Thanks girls.
  • Pennib, your makes are so quirky, I love them really different!

I'm after a bit of help if anyone's willing?
My sister recently got a caravan and ordered some material for her curtains. My mum asked to borrow my sewing machine, which I agreed to only if she gave me any scraps. I wanted the scrap material to make something for my sister that would match her curtains, as a suprise.

I now have the fabric, but at a loss as what to do with them. I have no knowledge of caravans, I haven't stayed in one for over twenty years!

The sizes of fabric are approx, 24 cams wide, there are four of them, their lengths bein, 89, 58 x2 and 144cms.
I did consider a couple of them long pillows (bolster?) but I can't really afford the stuffing for them!
A tea towel was another idea, although it would be a thin one, what would I need to back this with?

Hopefully this link will take you to the fabric

My sister is 36, quite a young person if you get what I mean, and not really into fabric hearts and things like that

    Any ideas?

  • I should also say, any ideas would need to be easy for me to do, although I've had my machine 3years, I'm really not the great seamstress id hoped id be!

Firstly, I haven't posted in here for ages so apologies for that, I do still read but haven't got round to posting.

Pennib - your mice are lovely. Reminds me of many years ago when I made mice for cards etc. They weren't as lovely as yours are.

Carlamarie - someone with more experience than me will be along shortly to give you advice, however, you could use some plain blue fabric and make a couple of patchwork envelope style cushion covers. They wouldn't be twee and are useful in a caravan.

  • Thanks ailsb I did think about patchwork but with the fabric being words. Wasn't sure if it would look odd because you wouldn't fit any full words in the patches

could you afford any plain white tea towels/hand towels and just sew a strip of this material along the bottom of each?
You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *
  • Yes I could afford that, I may even have a baby towel unused upstairs, so would I just hem all the sides, add a loop (for hanging?) and a strip of towel at the bottom, for weighing down I'm guessing?
Would this make an adequate tea towel? The fabric I have is 100% cotton.

    Thanks for replieing
