I'm exactly the same Justamum, and now I know the bit about the cup size I'm even more worried about the sizing on this dress I'm attempting :eek:.
Would this help? http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/2008/05/full-bust-alterations-or-adjustments-fba/0 -
Thanks for that Justamum, have bookmarked it to have a proper study later, when my brain isn't full of mush.:).
Thanks also to pennib for the words of encouragement.
I couldn't get anything to cut up at the charity shop but did manage to get a couple of metres of 100% cotton in the sale at our local shop for £1/m, so am happy with that.
At the moment I have an excuse for not starting as I have to finish a bag I am making, but I have promised myself that I will start next week.
If anyone hears reports of a mad woman running rampant through South Cheshire with a tape measure and some tracing paper, screaming "I WILL make it fit", that'll be me.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

My eldest daughter still brings her sewing round for me to do for her and the family as she cant sew a button on either, and it was not down to me not trying to teach her, she just wasnt in the slightest bit interested in sewing. I am trying to get her three children interested in it though and so far they all seem to like it even though the two eldest are boys. My youngest daughter again isnt interested in sewing at all. Its such a shame as I would love to have someone I could pass on my tips etc to. My son's fiance has got a sewing machine, son bought it for her year before last for Christmas but again she is always talking about I wish I could this and that but never finds the time to ask how to do it.
Wow I would love to have someone like you in my family/ friends! Mind you I would always be round asking questions0 -

Hi all
Have't been in here for an age as been busy trying to get my folksy shop selling. Has anyone here been buying fron prints to polka online? I remember some were a while back. I have been having the most awful trouble with them. They are the only place I have found to buy pul which I use for changing mats but my last order was made on 21/12 and I not got it and I have e-mailed them and they are not answering. Anyone else having problems?0 -

can someone enlighten me on the difference (if any) between regular cotton fabric and quilt weight fabric? It seems most bags are made of quilt weight and I wanted to know if you found standard cotton at a bargain price would you be able to use that instead?

Sorry Midge, never heard of that site, hope you get it sorted. Do they not have a contact phone number at all?
I just had a look at their site and they have put their phone number in as 123456789, doesnt look good , their postcode is a house if you look on Google Maps, not a shop so its someone selling from home.
Ann, I would have thought any weight cotton would be find for a bag. I have used thick cottons that are for upholstery, and I have used really thin cottons by putting an extra lining with it to make it thicker. If you want the cotton for bags then I would have thought any would do. If you want it for quilting then again you could use most kinds but the cotton they call quilting cotton is the easiest to use and you know it would all be the same thickness so would look better.0
