Doh, you've started me off now Avstar with that great tute, now i have to go and buy a gizmo. As if I haven't got enough to do!

Thanks Jennyjelly. I keep seeing sewing gadgets and accessories and lusting over them too :rotfl:

I also gave my machine a bit of a service over the weekend as my thread kept breaking, blimey what a difference it made! I followed the manual and unscrewed the bobbin case, cleaned and oiled it, also the top threader and under the foot plate, it was very dusty :o The machine is much quieter now too.
  • I don't know if anyone here has seen this website before, but i saw it while browsing for things online

I think i'll try and sell a few of my little bits and bobs on it, see how I get on :) Thought i'd share in case anyone else thought the same!
  • I've seen a few of this mini machines advertised recently and I think the rule of thumb is that your gonna get exactly what you pay for. While mini might seem like a good idea you, if you are actually going to use it to sew anything more than a handkerchief then you want something heavy enough that it doesn't bounce around. You can still get a decent machine for £99 and it won't fall off the table.

Hey jammyjenny, you and I should get together and be a trifle!:rotfl:

Lots of us sell on Etsy, it only costs 20p to list an item for 6 months (plus a percentage if it sells) so it's a good place to try. You might also like Folksy which is a smaller UK craft site.
Oh dear, here we go again.

Lovely toy Tamster, I am just off to have a look at your blog.

I updated mine today, I actually got some sewing bits finished off. I made a tote bag for a present for Christmas and another top for myself. The bits came today that I have been waiting for to finish off the bags I am doing. I am glad as it means I might get to finish them off over the weekend. I want to get them done so I can photo them and get some on my shop before OH goes away, he is off to Hong Kong on Tuesday and taking my camera with him.

When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

hi there, thanks for your thoughts re: mini sewing machine, decided to go for it in the end, but whether i keep it or it is a xmas present for mil or for me is another matter! although afterwards i did remember i do own a mini sewing machine, its technically a childs toy from the 50's but is in beautiful red cast iron and my aunt was quite happy to run curtains up on it, i certainly hand cranked quite a few projects out on it before getting my proper one for my 17th birthday:eek:

well off to work so no getting down to any of the many many projects i want to start after seeing all your fab stuff, first off is going to be some tea towel aprons, but as they are for xmas presents they are ck ones and i have even got ck cotton ribbon to do the tie with, will embellish with personalised felt brooches!

    happy crafting

I am also in the process of making tea-towel aprons. They will be my Nieces' christmas presents along with a little hamper of baking bits & bobs.
