I'll try and be serious now. What type of job is this??Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

Hmmm....I'm now wondering if they are being deliberately awkward in any and every petty little way they can think of to all the staff?? - closely followed by wondering whether they might be hoping to reduce staff numbers by any nasty/illicit little method they can think of rather than pay redundancy money?
I reckon Ceridwen might have hit the nail on the head here. Is the firm in any kind of difficulty?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

- Someone to stand up and tell whoever "You are making an ar5e of yourself"
- Everyone else to applaud.

Oh that changes things all together. I had a job with a large telecommunications company, and I was treated very very badly. Not only did many customers treat you badly, but the management of many of these places treat you like muppets too.
My place would not recognise unions either. In the end I went on the sick with stress, sorted myself out and then came to a mutual agreement to cancel my contract - with a pay off, and then I wouldn't take them to an industrial tribunal.

And that will fall right into their hands!! They could just sack en mass. My employer suspended me in front of everybody, on the basis they believed I had been putting the phone down on customers. It was in fact a mistake with the phones. As I said 'goodbye' to customers and placed the receiver, if they didn't do theirs before I did, it showed as 'hung up'.
This only came about after I offered to call customers back, who had been shown as 'hung up' and ask what they felt of my call - with management listening. After that there really was no way back for me...................Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

i'm very good at my job, and they have never had any cause to question my work.. i have almost the highest stats at work..but i know exactly what you mean by dropped calls.. its always our fault and never technical. i guess from what you said, it must be the type of job i'm in.. we dont seem to have any rights0 -

Yes. So did I. That is why they felt I had been dropping calls. Anyway I got a mumbled apology after my suspension. Told to come back to work. I did this for a few weeks. Felt very uncomfortable. Went off on stress - and I was stressed. I felt totally embarrassed by it all. Had panic attacks. Agreed a pay off. Best thing I ever did!!!
And yes in that kind of job, expect to be treated like crap. Totally wrong I know. But your targets will always move. Turnover of staff will be high. Wages poor.
Try looking for something else!!
