Hey there,
As a lifetime clutterer am not really sure how to pace myself here, but am convinced that all steps must be good so here goes:
1) finished bubble bath and shampoo (recycling bin)
2) papers (recycling)
3) plastic containers (gave to my Mum who is very pleased)
4) compost to outside
5) turned baby clothes with stains into rags (does this actually count?)
6) magazines (set aside to pass onto friends)
7) old baby clothes (boxful in attic to pass on to a friend of the family)
Wow, if I can keep this up it might make a difference!0 -

Hi All - I haven't posted for a few weeks - been mad busy at work & have embarked on a "get fit" programme so not too much energy left over for decluttering.
Main highlights:
OUT
Managed to do my first bootsale of the year last week. Got rid of quite a bit but there was still a fair bit left. Have bundled a lot of stuff up to take to charity shop but I am holding on to most of it to do another bootsale in September (currently sitting in the corner of my living room) - after that everything left over will go to Charity Shop.
Whenever I do a bootsale it has a positive knock on effect of stopping me buying things from charity shops for a while.
Listed a few bits on Ebay - most of them have bids& one already sold.
IN
Lots of clothes from a very generous friend (I "repay" her by selling stuff for her on Ebay)
Backpack on wheels & pair of trainers for my new "fitness" programme ( I really hope I stay focussed & that these items are not in the out category soon)
Mineallmine: I can't believe how you've stayed so motivated - I'm so impressed. :THave nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.

A bit of a slow week for me, but the general total has gone up by 2 to 28 due to a couple of things being taken away by a friend. No change to paperwork pile at 22.
I should be able to get cracking again in the next couple of days.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -

I'm also very impressed mineallmine - you keep the thread going with your determination - all clutter should be worried when you're around!
Today I've put one top into the charity bag - I found it lurking at the back of the airing cupboard, so obviously hadn't missed it for the weeks (months?) it's been in there.0 -

Awww thanks guys. I cannot quite believe how bad things got/still are. A combination of lots of studying and sadly lots of illness meant things were put on hold. I now firmly have the bit between my teeth. It's thanks to LoopyChriss who posted on some of the early pages and spoke about her challenge to get rid of 100 things in 10 days that really inspired me.
Plus i lost a really dear friend to the dreaded C. And so when I think do I need this or could a charity shop sell it, the charity shop is winning lots! It really focuses the mind on what is important. All my stuff goes to a local hospice charity shop. One of my dear friend's dying words was material possessions aren't important, so that is ringing in my ears. :A
Plus Freecycle has changed so much too. I've used them to get rid of so much stuff. I've got rid of broken things through Freecycle, things that a charity shop would not take and would normally end up on landfill.:A
So if anyone is reading this and thinking crikey my place is bad, it's so cluttered. Just get going. Dont have any method or anything, just crack on. And you'll feel better, promise :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
