I was horrified by a recent Tip in Chat magazine -

It was bad enough someone actually thought that this was a good idea never mind the magazine printing it.

So to meet my challenge of 100 things decluttered in 10 days I need to get rid of another 70 things by close of play tomorrow. :D

Right some baby steps of decluttering:

    32. 33. 34. Toiletries used up as part of challenge (recycled)
    35. Library book to be returned (library)
    36. Cotton bag (friend)
    37. Spider that came out of cotton bag when I gave to friend, yiiiikkkkkessss! (into the wilderness, not squished)
    38. 39. Make up stuff, unused (charity)
    40. Broken tile (bin)
    41. Old well loved t shirt, finally time to say goodbye, (ragbag for charity)

Well that's about another 10 things. Only 60 to go for my challenge !:A

Thanks for the support greent. I have got rid of loads (surprising how much there is still to go!) but like you say whatever I declutter is stuff gone, forever. And well done you on all your challenges, you've been working really hard.

Well done everyone else for the inspriration, think how much stuff all those charity shops are getting!
    :T
    42. Toiletry, sample of eye mask cream (bin)
43.44.45. Gubbins from bedroom floor (bin)
    46. Book mark (charity)
    47. Toiletry, old lip gloss (bin)
    48. Toiletry, old hand wash (recycled)
    49. Gubbins/rubbish from hallway eg receipts (bin)
    50. 51.52.Gubbins/rubbish from spare room floor, eg packaging, instructions (I dont think its necessary to keep cat tray/loo/igloo instructions...) (bin)
    53. Old toiletry packaging, retrieved from under bed (recycling)

So that's another 12 things gone. woo hoo. more to come.

    And there's more:
    54. Recycling from lounge, loads of bits cluttered around (recycling)
    55. Old diary (recycling)
    56. Old net curtain (charity)
    57. Gubbins/rubbish from bathroom (bin)
    58. Magazine (freecycle)

Still more to come, I'm on a roll today.
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

What a beautiful morning - for trekking to the tip/charity shop/somewhere else!

Final haul, and it will be challenging. Last on the list is the kitchen glory hole, right next to the radiator and gas stopcock so that definitely needs some major attention. Then I need to go and buy some big plastic boxes to store the stuff I'm keeping whilst the workmen are here. The only 'safe' place is under the living room window as the radiator in that room is on another wall.

As I declutter the house I feel like I'm decluttering myself too :j it's a clearing out of the feeling of dread when opening a cupboard or drawer, a clearing out of the feeling of guilt about the house being cluttered (not untidy mind, it's all been out of sight :o) and a clearing out of the feeling of being a 'failure' in the best homemaking competition in my imagination - you know, 'everyone else's home that you go to is perfect, clean, tidy, no junk at all, and how can I possibly be in such a guddle'!!

    :j:j

Hope everyone is doing well too.

    Morning all

I was on here a while ago and then got sidetracked but the lightbulb moment struck last week as... 'we have a dresser in the kitchen full of things and a table in the lounge full of things yet I never go in there so don't need it' so 'why keep it???' so pleased to say that I find 5 charity bags that were collected on Tuesday, they had been filled up over a week and by the time they were collected I couldn't really say what was in there so goes to show how much its missed.
I just want a clutter free house so will keep going.

Keep up the good work everyone.

In - Nothing so far, but we do need some mushrooms for the pizza for tea.
Out - cleaned out my sewing kit, so a load of little plastic bags that buttons come in, some ratty old twisted cotton bits and bobs, and some cardboard bits. I chucked the old tin it was in - a scruffy old bucket that a free gift had come in years ago from a makeup buy and replaced it with an old margarine tub. :)

I'm pooped! Four trips to the tip; 2 to charity shops and 1 to the Dog and Cat Shelter later and I seriously need to declutter the cold bottle of Pinot Grigio which is currently cluttering up my fridge!

    Does that count? :rotfl::beer::beer:
