Love this thread!
IN:
new duvet cover and new bed sheet (I will wash and sort some old bedding for charity)
new christmas decs (I will look at what decs are looking tired that can make way for this new stuff)
toiletries x 2
carrier bag (honestly, I have loads of strong reusuable ones!)
OUT (to charity/recycled)
plastic pegs
strimmer wire
phone charger (have a couple of charity shops nearby that accept electricals)
pastry brush
skewer
6 toiletries
OUT (binned, sadly)
4 toiletries (all plastic non-recyclable)
Pending I have loads of paperwork to shred like others here. Once shredded I'll put a load in the compost bin, with a few leaves and some peelings. I'm going to look what magazine subscriptions or bills I could opt to receive online only, to try and reduce what comes through the door.
Also if you're struggling to get motivated, just take a peep in your kitchen drawers, ahhhhhh!!!

Can I join, please, I really need help? I don't seem to be able to throw anything away and I can't keep the house clean because I can't get it tidy.
I love your idea of listing what's coming in and out.
IN
Nothing
OUT
one ripped slipper - don't laugh but I kept the other one just in case in comes in useful (that's how bad I am)
one pair of trousers
Well, it's a good start for me!
Will try and list at least one thing every day and maybe I'll start to be able to let go of stuff.
Good luck and best wishes everyone

Please can I join in too? We've a house in the South west - military family - where we spend all our time, and another in Yorkshire which is home.
I need to declutter both so that if we have to live in the Yorkshire one it will be a relatively simple transition. Will make a start tomorrow - as have driven for 6 hrs today in attempt to beat the snow!
Still as cold down south though! Plan to freecycle or ebay it all - only chuck what can't be donated or recycled as Christmas presents.
So looks like everyone will be getting body moisturiers next christmas then!!! LOLMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -

I have a good sort out and declutter, and get rid of 10 things a day (by recycling, freegling, charity shop, local tip).Only a bit of an online declutter today, made some additions and subtractions to the blog's sidebar and started clearing through old saved emails. We were up at 6am, our dog was having a stroke so been keeping near to her today.

I don't think I'm doing this right!
I thought the airing cupboard would be a good place to start - small enough not to be too daunting but big enough to be an achievement. I duly pulled out all the curtains and duvet covers from many moons ago and put them in a black sack for the charity shop.
Pleased with my progress, I sat with a cup of tea, thinking of all the wonderful creations I could make out of said textiles and promptly put the black sack in the sewing room.
Result - one de-cluttered airing cupboard and one very cluttered sewing room!:rotfl:Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
ARGH still no bin collection, not been since 17th December so starting to annoy me now. However the 'snotty answering machine message' blaming the weather for lack of collection (oddly just Xmas and NY eve affected????) states they will collect any extra rubbish, oh they going to get a suprise!
DPs razor sort of working, he's still unsure of it but got too used to those expensive disposables. So that might have been a good Christmas 'in'.
In since my last post - nothing
Out since my last post - 3 bin bags of rubbish, 2 bags of recycling, boxes/inners from selection boxes have put the chocolate in the fridge, food obviously, several freegle things, broken decorations, some more clothes
We need to declutter before we buy more stuff so we're limiting what we buy, I am letting DP get a new printer to replace the broken one which is half price but that will be the only sales purchase I think. I am buying nothing early for gifts as I need to sort what we have before I add more junk. We don't have a loft so not just a case of throwing it where it went in the old house. I do have some wrapping paper left and no idea where I am going to store it. Bargains aren't bargains if I wasn't going to buy it anyway so I'm not going to buy anything!
Books, ok this will be in a while but interested what others do with them as someone said Amazon don't tend to cover full postage costsOne day I might be more organised...........

We were up at 6am, our dog was having a stroke so been keeping near to her today. She's doing remarkably well as she is nearly 16, but didn't want to stray to far from her side
May not get to proper decluttering until next week depending on how she does.
Just wanted to say that my thoughts are with you - hugs to all of you, its horrible when they are ill at that agen hope she is ok.
Ok so today have not been in too much as we went shopping and then have all felt rubbish!
So IN:
One pot cook book
Pencil case to organise the drawer
Half price Xmas cards for next year
New cat bed (my oldie is feeling the cold this year)
Yoghurt maker (inspired by the thread on this forum!!)
OUT:
Filing cabinet posted on freecycle
ABout 30 other items that were listed on freecycle (I love it when people say I will take it all - then I can give them what no-one else wants)
Another two bags of rubbish - I cleaned the drawers out in the study today (why do we keep these things!)
2009 calender
A bin bag of shredding (DH's work stuff not even mine!)
Pending out
Another 10 items on freecycle
Think the decs may come down tomorrow - have done the festive thing now :rotfl::p can I just say that you are all doing amazingly well though? It seems such a good idea and I started out with the view of how hard can it be - actually very!!Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0
