The Great Declutter Part 2

I ventured up to the attic today and tidyed up a bit, there was Christmas stuff which needed sorted (it was too cold in winter!). So thats all packed under the eaves. I got one black bin bag of bits'n'bobs out and a cardboard box which seems to have contained seed potatoes at some stage, it's empty now so I assume the spuds are eaten...
Now that I've been up there, I can see other stuff to go, so that's what my days off this week will be spent doing.
Good luck all who are doing the 25 challenge this week end:)Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #22£2 savings 2010 Challenge #8Great Declutter 2010 Challenge0 -
Well I should have taken up the challenge to get rid of 100 items instead of 25, lol, and I've done even better than that!
Today:-
Posted Ebay item to buyer
Took 6 bags of coins (£50) to the bank
DP took a zimmer frame back to his mum, (which a friend had been borrowing due to breaking his foot, and has been in our hall since Wednesday)
Deodorant can, shower gel bottle, milk bottle and stain remover bottle all emptied and put in recycling box
Sorted some boxes in the shed and found 92 items to go to charity shop, and an empty box which went in for recycling
Broken beaker and empty sunflower spread tub binned
That makes 107 items (unless I count all the coins as individual items, lol!)
Pending: Sold 4 more items on Ebay which will be posted on Tuesday as I'm working all day on Monday, and a TV listed on Freecycle
I am very pleased with myself as I've been a terrible hoarder for years, but I feel great to be getting rid of all the clutter, it's so liberating, lol!:D

1. Sorted loads of DD clothes to give to a friend
2. Dug out the old Leapad and games to give to same friend
3. Sorted out CDs and listed 21 on musicmagpie (Does this count as one item or 21 :rotfl:)
4. Sorted 10 DVDs that no one ever watches to ebay
5. Put Dyson on freecycle. Got it fron there to use as spares to repair ours but the parts didn't fit so now its just cluttering up the hall.
Will keep going:D
6. Cleared out the drawers in the bookcase
7. Cleared out the hall cupboard so now the schoolbags fit in
Sorted one box under my bed
8. Chucked out all stuff in the bathroom that was never going to get used
9. Tidied out the dresser
Now got 4 piles on the dining table (It's a big table;)) 1 for ebay, 1 for freecycle, 1 for charity bag and one for the scouts fundraising sale. You learn to love to liveYou fight and you forgiveYou face the darkest nightJust live before you die0 -
Busy day today
. 9 sacks of rubble taken to tip. There are another 12 at least to go now. Also had 4 rubble sacks and a laundry basket of wood lathes. I've burned 2 rubble sacks so far and will stay up tonight until I've emptied the laundry basket. When I get up in the morning I will get the fire going again and get the next couple of bags gone. Then we'll actually be able to rip down the lathes from the other side of the wall.
Our local tip has a new policy now that you can only take 5 bags of rubble per week. No idea how we'll cope with getting rid of this lot. A skip is not an option up this road so we have to take everything to the tip ourselves. In fact, I even have to do my own recycling because we never get bins.
Very tired tonight. Poor DH is so tired he keeps falling asleep in front of the telly. Right I need to do some more on this today. got up to 16 items and then decided to completely rearrange the living room!:rotfl:what this did do is churn up an absolute load of clutter, which I packed into bags to be sorted.
Well done to everyone on here for the fab decluttering they have been doing! Whether it's a couple of items or a large amount it all counts toward making our homes decluttered, lovely places to live :A
To the poster with rubble (sorry mind is a sieve), how about offering some of it on freecycle? people could use it for hardcore type stuff such as patio bases, or to build a rockery. you can always put it on there and see if you get any interest. :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Morning all
Not really done any decluttering over the past few days but apart from food nothing has come in either.
I've been spending more time in the garden than the house (actually I did buy a blackcurrent but I had a space for it and it's not in the house so must be ok)
Actually noticing my weakness for buying stuff is plants!
Hope to do some paper decluttering later (boxes of kids school and artwork) and I have 2 items listed on ebay so there is a hope there too.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

I have been quite busy this morning! We are still trying to empty the garage, so I have found someone who wants some of the furniture and I will try to get it to them this afternoon. I have also sorted out some stuff for the same person to do her charity car boot.
Random question though- we have a 2 seater and 3 seater settee in there, very good condition- any idea how best to get rid. Not sure how it works exactly, as it doesn't have a fireproof certificate. Any ideas? It is too good to throw away really. Thanks0 -
