  • I've been away staying with DD1 so that I could visit my mum who is still in hospital. I got home to find DD2 has moved into a new flat and sent her dad home with a carboot full of stuff that won't fit into the new flat! I am so pleased I have been decluttering as I can at least find a corner to tuck this stuff into for a while. DD2 has a broken heart so doesn't need any grief from me about clutter.

On a more postitive note I rang furniture recycling today and have arranged for them to come and remove a double bed and mattress next Tuesday. The bedroom will get decorated.

Another postitive concerns mum. She is going into a nursing home soon and her flat will need to be emptied. I decided at the weekend that I will have my share of her photos and nothing else! I am sure some charity can benefit from her household goods and I have plenty to be honest.

Anyway home now for the foreseeable future so let declutering and decorating recommence.

DS came home from school years ago muttering that his ear was rattling cos he'd pushed something in it:mad: - cue emergency trip to doctors ..not good with 3 kids under 7 on a Friday afternoon! Patient in front of me goes in on time ....and comes out 50 mins later!!:mad:

Eventually get in to see locum doc. DS is by now well and truely past it. Doc looks in ear and exclaims out loud in surprise - DS has rammed one of those wobbly eyes from a birthday card into his ear!!!!! As doc said - she'd been a doc for 30 years and this was the first time she'd looked in an ear and seen an eye looking back at her!!!!!

Luckily she managed to get it out and we didn't have to go to casualty......

Well done all you declutterers! :T:T
  • Morning Everyone - Didnt have a very good day on the decluttering front yesterday - guess that means I am now down to the hard-core stuff and its more about tidying rather than disposing now. But I will keep on trying so here are my ins and outs for yesterday:
    In:
Usual 4 eggs - thnaks girlies
3 leeks from veg garden (getting a bit tired now but nice in HM soup)
£90 found in my knicker drawer (thats what I call a result)
    Out:
(counting for my 100 in 10 days - day 2)
    16. Organic fertilizer used on raspberries/currant bushes - box recycled
    17. Prunings from said fruit bushes (well if beads in ears can be counted!)
    18. Carpark tickets that had accumulated in my car
    19. Dust from filter thingy on my Dyson which had its 3-monthly wash (told you I was scraping the barrel!)
    Stay clutter-free
No new stuff unless to replace broken items that are essential.
£2 savings pot (started Oct 09) £182 so far (£100 of which is banked)
Roadkill jar (found money) 87p and 20 eurocents
  • Only a tiny declutter, but quite a relief too.

    yesterday:
    in:
    junk mail
    lovely new exterior door
    freebie newspaper

    out:
    junk mail
    horrible old exterior door

1 raggy coat put in the garage in the rag bag waiting for the next charity bag. :j
1 good but unwanted and doesn't-get-worn coat in the garage in the good-clothes bag waiting for a charity bag.
1 good but no longer fits coat - its owner has been told to find a new owner or it's going out. - this is going in the garage today while he's out - out of sight, out of mind and all that ;)

The "raggy coat situation" has been nagging and bothering me for some time now.... so glad I was able to finally discard one. It was ridiculous that I was keeping 2 coats that were only fit for a rag bag. Have kept the other one for gardening and other mucking about in (and will be making a few small repairs to make it look a bit more presentable).

    pending out today:
2 freebie newspapers (I just noticed last weeks is still here sitting on the printer trolley)
    an old magazine
a battered & torn cardboard box which was hiding on recycling collection day.

and a door curtain needs to be put back up - door curtains are not very useful while they're slung over the back of a chair :k

Enjoy the day peeps - hope you have more outs than ins :D
