  • have been rushing around like anything the last couple of days....however in quieter moments I have had a good think about where to start on the 100 items in 10 days challenge.

I have a charity bag for friday - so tomorrow i will be busy - will update you on progress...
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
  • Hi, since my last post, I have given to charity:

Out - small set of bedroom drawers
    baby basket and stand
    ironing board (don't ever iron.....ever)
    shoe stand
large box of kitchen bric a brac
    clothes
    toys
    games
    books

In - toy for dd from my dm

So feeling quite good about what's been achieved so far. I always thought my house wasn't too bad for clutter as I am not particularily sentimental about 'things', but since I have been getting ready to move house, I have realised how much there has been in cupboards etc that I just seemed not to notice before.

My parents have hoarding tendencies and the older I get the more I wish to distance myself from that type of behaviour. I really think too much choice can be bad for my psyche sometimes.

    Anyway, onwards and upwards.

  • Right today I have started the 100 items in 10 days challenge properly as my husband is working away at the moment and comes back in 10 days time, so if I can make a dent in the stuff in house by the time he comes back that would be a good incentive. However, not sure how productive today is going to be as I have an ill 4 year old. She was sick yesterday evening and ending up sleeping with me just in case she was sick in the night, which she was a couple of times. Luckily this morning she seems to be better but is feeling a bit sorry for herself.

    Out:
    1. and 2. Two big bags of recycling taken to the recycling point.
    3. Also while at recycling point, I found 4 more empty bottles in the car which I also put into the recycling.

Will try and do some more later and will post an updated list at the end of the day.

Damaged pair of DS's school shoes. I bought him a pair of school shoes from a Sport's Discount store - He's worn them for 2 weeks & they've already got a hole in the upper. I tried to take them back but they wouldn't accept them as they said he'd been kicking things - which he probably has - but isn't that what 9 year old boys do at playtime? His Clarks ones didn't have holes for several months. I'm torn between writing to their head office or just dumping them & learning a lesson from the experience - ie cheap isn't always cost effective. Greent - you've got it right...
    QUOTE]

Update - After a long exchange of Emails with Sports Direct they asked me to send the shoes to their head office - they emailed me today to say they've inspected them but still won't give a refund and are returning them to me. I'm livid -:mad::mad: - I've been venting my spleen writing negative reviews of the shoes on the Sport's Direct Amazon page (there's 3 different variations of style so it's kept me busy). In all seriousness I'd hate to see anyone else waste their money on these shoes. I need to "let go" of this one soon but I'm not quite ready :mad::mad:

Wow loads of progress everyone. A few more bits today:

    12. Out of date food (steak tut tut - dog looked longly as I chucked it in the bin, would put it in food recycling but it would probably drive the foxes mad)
    13. Out of date food, bread - really gotta get better at giving this stuff to my sis, I just cant put stuff out for the birds, they would be hunted down here
    14. "Charity" bag (you know those doubtful ones - now being used as a bag to house charity bits to drop off to a local charity shop
    15. Rubbish (lots of bits and pieces) from the lounge, binned
    16. Unloved dog food (off to a friend's dog)

That's another 5 bits gone. Every little helps. :T
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
