The Great Declutter Part 2

TV that had been sat on our dining room floor for 14 months  Has finally gone :jI advertised the TV in our local shop on a card marked TV Free to a good home. Within the hour a couple had phoned asking what the catch was, I merely said they had to collect it. They came round promptly and were over the moon as their tv had broken the night before. They were so pleased they even sent a text last night thanking us for giving their family our tv. It really made my day that we'd been able to make someone elses day better and I realised that although not having a job isn't brilliant its also not the end of the world
Ah well done inaminute, you've made someone's week and decluttered your house. Really sorry to hear about your redundancy. Get yourself on www.direct.gov.uk and double check what your rights are. :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hi Money maker, have you tried freecycling these or just leaving a sign outside saying FREE? :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Box of dates - bought in Turkey in 2005 - every time I've threatened to throw them out OH has vowed he will eat them - he's away for a fortnight, so the birds have had them - the blackbirds loved them!

Couple of bits in (like toiletries...oops all ok, will post on the toiletries thread).
Out:
1. sample size of toothpaste, used up and binned
2. PC cable (old, outdated) binned
3. As above.
4. As above. (sorry landfill...)
5. Mens hair gel (charity)
6. Takeaway menu (gggrrrr another one!) Recycled.
Much slower than yesterday but not much time dedicated to it today. Anyway 6 things gone! I think I need to look at bedding this weekend. And maybe donate a set to charity (or the local cat sanctuary).
Keep going everyone, it was really good reading everyone's progress - especially on the ebay front too. :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

but also once I start I will never stop. I keep looking at sock monkeys and thinking mmm they look fun!
Have you got any schools or brownie groups near you that would appreciate some craft stuff? Or if you have stuff thats still boxed could you give as presents? :A
I do have a lady who goes to a group at the local hospice, she helps run it and they make cards to sell in aid of the hospice, so she's had a lot of my stuff. Also my mum has had a lot - but she's 85, and has more than me!! I can't help thinking that one day it's all going to come back to me, so I try to encourage her not to have it, LOL! I have given card and stickers to a local school and a scout group too... but however much I give away, what's left seems to breed behind my back, and it seems there's still as much left as what I've given away!
I have actually been lucky and sold some bits on Ebay these past couple of weeks, but it's very slow going...Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Phew! It helped doing the fly-lady routine too. Today was the living room hence some bits were from there. Tomorrow is the kitchen. I may be gone some time....:o
Well done, you're doing really well at this: 20 down, another 120 to go.....
I haven't decluttered anything for a few days although I have sold some craft things on Ebay so I suppose they count. Hubby wants to decorate the spare bedroom soon so I suppose I'll have to get around to clearing that out next week. I've got 7 sacks of soft toys, and about 5 giant ones for a local charity, just waiting for the fundraising co-ordinator to come and pick them up, think the room will look bigger with just those gone!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing
