    OUT
    2 items to CS

Nearly bought a new book but resisted. Saw a post on here about how good 'The Tightwad Gazette' is, looked at it on Amazon & was about to order it when I pulled back. Have given away loads of books so far this year & really do not want to start adding to the collection again.
Really am a reformed character. Have not bought any books so far this year which is a miracle in itself.:j

Have a look at the 'No More Buying Books Until I've Read the Ones I've Already Bought' Thread on the Debtfree Board, that has really focused my mind on my book mountain. Have gone through one pile and ruthlessly decided what I will read, and have started getting rid of the ones that I won't
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D

  • So - its snowing again and my little car is sick: I am going to blitz the bathroom and declutter it of all the samples, half-bottles, leaking tubes and gunky yuk that you wouldnt want anywhere near your skin. I shall empty all the drawers into a box, clean and reline the drawers, then put back only the really nice things (I am using the "would your mother approve of you having this is your drawer" test). Then I will do a deep clean of the mirrors, bath, loo and basin. And only when thats done will I treat my shiny lovely bathroom to a new loo brush and holder. Friday is normal bathrooms day - clean and change the towels and bath mat but I will really go for it today and try to lighten my mood.
    Off I go!
    Stay clutter-free
No new stuff unless to replace broken items that are essential.
£2 savings pot (started Oct 09) £182 so far (£100 of which is banked)
Roadkill jar (found money) 87p and 20 eurocents
  • :) Hi everyone, thanks for the moral support from you all. Yes, it was a bit of a shock but every cloud has a silver lining I just need to find mine now! I may even look into doing something for myself and therefore I'm feeling more positive today.

Its also given me a kick to do some decluttering! :rotfl:

In: Post and parcel for OH

    Out:
Bag of books and bag of clothes to charity shop (today)
Lots of paperwork thrown out yesterday whilst I did the filing.
TV that had been sat on our dining room floor for 14 months  Has finally gone :j

I advertised the TV in our local shop on a card marked TV Free to a good home. Within the hour a couple had phoned asking what the catch was, I merely said they had to collect it. They came round promptly and were over the moon as their tv had broken the night before. They were so pleased they even sent a text last night thanking us for giving their family our tv. It really made my day that we'd been able to make someone elses day better and I realised that although not having a job isn't brilliant its also not the end of the world :)

Right I'm off now to drop charity bags into town.

Happy moving welsh totster and happy decluttering everyone, thanks again for your support. :)
  • The boys had a 'snow day' off school yesterday and my eager to please DS1 (in trouble for humiliating his brother, long story) offered to clear out the gap by the stairs. We have a meter checking man coming today and had to get to the understairs cupboard. He did a lovely job, swept it out and everything. I, unfortunately have done nothing but a bit snotty at the mo - think its another cold coming.

    IN:
Competition win of a DS game for DS2
Couple of clothes for DD from ebay

    OUT:
Lots of old phone books/yellow pages
Plastic bags and bits of letterboxes
    Cardboard boxes
    Dust! (Not all of it)
Old stairgate and moses basket stand (just want to get rid)
    Boys back to school today
