I'm managing to get rid of all of my herbal teas! I have got through 4 boxes minimum since the other day. Purely by getting them all out of the cupboard and putting them on the side. That way, they are mocking me every time I boil the kettle and I'm drinking them. I think that there are only 2 boxes left on the side now. I've brought one to work with me and it won't be going home in the morning, only 1 tea bag left. I'll finish that before I finish my break.
My freezer is in desperate need of defrosting so I will have to avoid buying food for about a hundred years. I still have fruit in there to make jam or other lovelies with. I think I may make some pies though because I'm sure that the jam I have will last me until it's fruit picking season again. Mmmmm blackberry crumble. Maybe I should ring the family and do a big dinner at the weekend? Clear the decks again for a while.
Both kids have friends over for tea tomorrow so will declutter 4 butchers sausages and the rest of the taters plus the frozen peas I've got in the fridge ready! Hopefully I have a tin of sweetcorn or I'll have to get up early to go to the shop :(

  • Callisto - my ace way of storing shoes (though it was v frightening when I did it first of all) is to keep them in their boxes (they stack, keep dust free, keep their partners) and take a photo which you stick on the short end of the box. It makes finding the right pair easy and its like going shoe shopping when you go into your wardrobe. Shoe shops are happy to give you boxes. If you are really really keen you can cover them in wallpaper and be so smart that you can award yourself a gold star. It frightened me when I initiated it because it was in the days of roll film and I used 2 rolls (thats err 72 pictures - which means 72 pairs of shoes, boots, sandals, trainers ...) What the guy in Jessops thought I shudder to think! Hey Ho! But with the one out, one in way of shopping all my boxes get reused now so its easy to replace the photo and I am moving towards having all nice robust uniform boxes. So you can see some (small) areas of my life are totally uncluttered - its just the rest that needs sorting!

Out: old cereal plastic pouring box thing
    Saggy sports bra
pointy shoes (hmmm thats a spare box!)

    In: food
pair of sensible trousers with masses of pockets for doing First Responder duty
nice letter from Nation Car Parks cancelling OHs parking fine (thanks NCP - you are human)
    Stay clutter-free
No new stuff unless to replace broken items that are essential.
£2 savings pot (started Oct 09) £182 so far (£100 of which is banked)
Roadkill jar (found money) 87p and 20 eurocents

One piece of post for our music group - OH can deal with that
Some Brownie cheques - which will be paid in the bank today
    Nothing else :A

    Out:
A few more bits in the reycling but not a lot else :o

    Pending:
We need to take money to 3 different banks today, for our music group, Brownies and me! so doing that at lunch time - won't make a huge dent in the clutter but it'll be done.
A few mini Soap and Glory products from my present stash ready to be wrapped and given to a friend for her birthday when I see her later.

This weekend I have very little external planned, no work, meetings, rehearsals etc so I'm going to on Saturday and Sunday:
    • rediscover the settee - the one thing I haven't kept up from my decluttering/sorting last month
    • do all the ironing and put away
    • do the Brownie accounts ready to give in for auditing next week
    • see if there is anything else for my charity shop box and pop the box into a charity shop when I go for my eye test tomorrow.
    • Make a start on our accounts and get rid of some of the receipts - more shredding!
    • Cosmetic inventory!
    • Help OH with shelving in the garage if he wants help!
Lets see how much of that I can achieve by Sunday evening :o
