DS's room is done - bar the replacement of the bedding which is in the wash now, so that is a significant improvement.

DD has just surfaced with much grumbling about how her room is actually-perfectly-ok-thank-you-very-much  I will persist with the [STRIKE]nagging[/STRIKE] gentle persuasion and see how we get on

Dishwasher emptied, washing machine/tumble drier working overtime today, and will do a final HHI to complete my challenge later this afternoon.

We have major condensation - seems far worse this winter than in previous years. Will a dehumdifier help? Any recommendations? Stone walls probably want re-pointing.
I've got a cheap homebase one, and it's great. Interestingly, it seems to be more effective if I have it on upstairs, but I do move it around.

I have some flan cases and some bananas which need to be used.
Anyone got a recipe for a caramel-type sauce which i can use with the bananas and the flan, which wont make the flan base go soggy!? Or any other ideas how to use them up?

    TIA xx

jo sounds like banoffee pie to me. Heat large can condensed milk in a non-stick saucepan, add 6oz butter and 6oz sugar and stir on a low heat 'til butter and sugar dissolve. Boil for 5 min, carefully, as it will burn your skin. Pour onto base and decorate with sliced banana soaked in lemon juice to prevent browning (and cut throught the sweetness).

Toots I am at the bottom of the ironing basket!!! :j:j:j

It is like sick bay here, 3/4 of us have stinking colds.

hex we had water running down the inside of the sitting room walls, the condensation was that bad. Dehumidifier has helped loads, as well as trickle heating and proper ventilation. Read Jeff Howells who writes in the Torygraph about it (askjeff.co.uk).

Would it work with evaporated milk? Bought too much when I got the ingredients for fudge.
