Hi, I have done no flying again today so far but have decluttered DB out of one ditch, then found him again and he is being decluttered out of more snow by a local farmer and his tractor.

Looked for missing sledges from the front door which holiday people next door had borrowed to go do their shopping. Meaning we couldn't collect our 8 loaves of bread and 20 pints milk from PO this morning. grrr

They have brought them back just now. I am now decluttering DH and DS" to the PO with the sledges for essential supplies.

I have got DS2 to clear the sofa in his room and put all his clothes away in the strange wooden things we use for clothes in this house.

DS3 moved back into his own room and a quick hoover and bed change was all it needed as he understands the use of furniture and bins.

DS1s pit has to be left as he is almost 24 and I am not going in there. If it means no snowman so be it Toots :)

He is out helping to rescue DB and has been out in the snow a good two hours at least.

nicki sorry to hear DD is ill. I hope she is better soon.

Hugs valli That happened to me too recently I managed to get them to reduce the charge by half but they wouldn't budge on the whole amount.

Lil_me You will have to come over here some day. Maybe in the Spring when the pass is open. We are living the 'Seven brides for seven brothers' story here. Is anyone else old enough to remember it?

Your Landie would be ideal in a place like this. We don't have a 4x4 on the road at present. I think Pooley is okay as it is a lot lower than this but I bet very cold.

Apparently, once they get the 'replacement' payment they will reinstate my interest free. I am also expecting them to refund the charges in full or I will be very cross...

Off to find clean bedding for our room.

DH nearly finished DS2 room so we can get the floor cleaned and his bed back and made!

Is it really only 1.45 (it is when I start typing this)? :o Feels about 5pm. Not much flying done except the bathroom cleaned again, hotwater bottle taken up to DD, I remembered to eat and more washing in the machine  I am so glad that on Tuesday I decided to pick up some disposible gloves & cheap dishclothes - not like me to buy those things, nor to have a bottle of TCP in the cupboard...just goes to show that sometimes mysterious things happen for a reason!

Off to make lemon & lime jelly for DD as she's asking if she can try to eat something. Waiting until 5pm though so its 12 hours since she was first sick! This bug will last anywhere upto 3 days apparently  But asking for food has to be a good sign surely? Need to swap washing over as well. THEN I'll get the TD empty, dishes put away & I might start on the ironing while watching Bones

Jo - Not made either of these for a while so quantities are estimates
First option is to make a thick chocolate and peanut sauce. Gently warm a tub of double cream, stir in some chopped up chocolate (100g?), heat it on low until it has melted then stir in a couple of dessert spoons fulls of peanut butter. You can add a little golden syrup but it makes it runnier. The more choc you use the thicker it will be.

The other option is that the sauce in banoffee is essentially a thick toffee custard. Use your eggs and milk or cream to make a custard, use brown sugar instead of white if you have it and some vanilla essence instead of a pod - recipe here

I have now made lunch and sorted the washing ready for putting away and ironing. Suprise, suprise there is now a cat asleep on it.

ETA Poohbear - that sounds like our perfect holiday cottage! I have a Landrover Defender which really earns its keep in the snow.

some of us are working (allegedly ;)) so don't have time for flying :p:p

Having said that, I've sorted the laundry... there appears to be rather a lot of it :confused:

I need to pack up some parcels and go to the post office sometime this afternoon. And the exercise will do me good.
