Getting there slowly but surely - some has to wait till tinies are out of way - have seen them skating on a mopped floor before now, not pretty!

Another question for all you ladies - I'm back at work full time next week so how does all this work then? Am usually out of the house by 8am, back at about 5.15pm, tea, DW, bath kids, reading, homework, bedtime and then I usually have at least an hours more work to do - and I do need my sleep! Does it ease up any once Christmas is packed away for another year or not?

I have been procrastinating but in a good way:rotfl:I have cleaned the main bathroom as it was a sty and the blind man was coming to measure up. He quoted £240 for 2 roller black out blinds and 1 vertical blind for windows measuring 180cm across does anyone have any idea if this is a good price? I did arrange another firm for a quote for this morning but they havent turned up:mad:
Also done another WM load and finally filled up the DW and switched it on. We have a small leak somewhere under the sink and I think it is coming from there but have switched it on to see if it is that or not. The previous owner has also put in a water filter tap thing so under the sink is a bit of a mess. Will wait until the New year before I call a plumber so I dont get charged silly money.
Oh and the next delivery man came with my other rug and I liked the first one best of course:rotfl:so I now have a rug in my lounge to wriggle my toes into and for the kiddies to play on:j. I had just that minute mopped through again so he came at a good time.

Right off to put some more washing on radiators:rolleyes: (can't wait to get my TD going again but it means either leaving the garage door open and risk the bikes getting pinched or paying a lot to have my utility sink removed and putting it in there and get a builder to knock a whole in the wall to vent it as DH doesnt want to do it)
Am a bit loathe to clean out either fridge as, if I find out the integrated one is broken when my friend comes to fix it I will have to buy a new one and the garage fridge is sitting on top of my utility workbench and is difficult to reach to do it.
Right will stop chatting and get fridge cleaning and unit wiping, TTFN

I am a bit slow today but to DS2's advantage. He broke his car key open last night trying to open the frozen lock. This morning he drove 25 miles to a key cutting shop to be told they couldn't do anything without the chip which had dropped out. So he drove home and then walked the last bit as we can't get cars here.

He walked in the house and on the coffee table that I hadn't got around to dusting yet was the chip. Now he is doing the 40 odd mile round trip again. The guy in the shop reckons he should buy a lottery ticket as we all thought the tiny little chip was lost for good in the deep snow!:j:j:j

So instead of a useless car whilst we try to find the cash for a new key and reprogramming he can buy a key for £9.99

If I had dusted and DH had hoovered as planned the chip would be long gone!

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
I'm back from the doctors (have been for a while but was doing other things) and have been told in no uncertain terms that I need to loose weight NOW! I knew this any way and it was my plan to make a start as soon as new year was over, instead I'm starting now and having New Year "off" ;) I've bought myself some new work boots (workmen style ones) and picked up a couple of bits from Homebargains/Superdrug while I was out.

Came home to an email from ex - his family (who DD is staying with ATM) have got a stomach bug going around and now ex and girlfriend have it. I may have to call on the services of Daddies Taxi to go and collect DD on Thursday if ex isn't up to the drive to his parents & back so I'm off to Asda now to go and get some ink for my printer (I've priced around and they're the cheapest I can get to without having to pay out £3 on bus fare or paying more online ;) ) and see if they have any smaller dinner plates (to make the smaller portions still look big IYKWIM). Then its home & ironing & tackle the livingroom just in case I end up having to go and collect DD.

Will post a list later but I know there's loads of ironing & vacuuming to do :o

Also all christmas decoration and tree are packed away, livingroom has been all changed about. Went to the dump so more rubbish out and got some coal aswell.

Hubby being a pain, he didn't get up until after 9 this morning, he'd been called 4 times as well as a cuppa being made for him. So it ended up being too late and i couldn't give him a hand this morning because Rhys woke before he did. Then when we come home from the tip and i made everyone dinner he falls asleep, so he's had a 2 hour kip.

Right i'm away to sort the kitchen while i'm still p'ed off. :D
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

  • Diva take it easy until it has all clicked back into place - less of the acrobatics in bed might help:rotfl: I have to admit i was staring at your bum for ages before I realised what it was - it did help when i put my glasses on:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Axe I am sure you have already worked out what you can and cant do so just pace yourself and do what you can from the lists - you dont have to do it all - the more you do the easier it is the following week but it doesnt mean you should wear yourself out.
greenbee you are becoming a lazy lady since you stopped going to work everyday I think I will have to start checking up on you more:p:p
poppy why not try and get some of his stuff sorted out and away before the New Year and give yourself a fresh start - nice clean or new bedlinen would be good - maybe re-arrange the bedroom - make it your room - your haven.
lil_me (((hugs))) you sometimes have to put your foot down - I know you will cope really well but I am sure it must be tiring for you. Was it DS1 that got the chameleon?
Jinky would it be any good if you went and stayed up with her for the 2 days - maybe at your Mum's or even a travel lodge might be cheaper than travelling back down - DD could maybe stay with you too or just see you - it might be easier for her for this first time and you could wait until half term to get her down for longer?
Dora the lists are pretty much the same all year round so you just fit in what you can when you can - most people try to do a bit during the week and then catch up on saturday - life permitting!!!:rotfl:
thifty I have no experience of blind companies but that seems a lot to me! hope you get your leak and fridge etc sorted without tooooooo much expense.
    pooh oooooooooooooooh that was lucky:T:T:T
nicki good luck with the weight loss

well its still minus 8 here so have been trying to keep warm. done some ironing so that was a help. also the phone has been ringing and ringing - why is it everybody wants to ring you at the same time!!

I am going to have a rant next week - was wondering if its the same in your area - my council have been closed (all offices) from lunchtime 24th until the 5th january - I think its appalling that a local authority just shuts down - I phoned to see what was happening with the bin emptying and got the recorded message - I couldnt believe it - there are very few companies that take such a long break.

ok will go do stars since you have all been soooooooo busy:T:T:T
    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder
