I had lunch out again with DH, and we have sorted provisional dates for our first holiday :D I then nipped to boots, came out £42 lighter but that included 4 excellent half price birthday presents, some expensive vitamins , tissues, deodorant on 241 and other bits and bobs. I now have £24 of boots points.

One of DH's mates popping round at 4, DH is hoovering through now and finishing the kitchen whilst I watch casualty...though only half watching it tbh!

Need to finish making the turkey soup for tea and put the rest of the prezzies away then I should be able to claim my star!

Went into town with kids and wish I hadn't, DS was absolutely vile and I have sent him to his room, it has gone very quiet so either he is playing quietly or he is catching up on sleep. Are anyone elses kids playing up or is it just my hell spawn? He is 4 going on 14 and his behaviour just depresses me atm, so incredibly selfish.
Anyway I'm going to go and attack the kitchen, taking the laptop with me so I don't get sidetracked;)

  • I'd like to join in but only stick to Monday's level one. Reason is my house is a disgrace and my kitchen needs a lot of work. So if I can get that decluttered and surfaces and appliances cleaned then I will be happy.

Will have a go at the list posted, but any suggestions how to tackle a house-wide problem slowly but thoroughly please?

    I can recommend AnW's patented Dot-to-dot method.

You get one area clean (be it just a cupboard in a room) but you KEEP it clean then move onto the next bit...

and if you start with level one of each list as the next weeks come around you will get level ones done quickly so can then add in level twos...

Big big thanks for listening and supporting - it really has touched me. I have decided NOT to discuss what was said to my kids by their dad unless they bring it up - clearly he (KH) was very angry with me and has really railed at them about it - and, for what ever reason, they have decided he had a point. So if I try to defend myself I cannot see it helping. They live with me, I'm the one who does the donkey work anyway, so we'll see how it goes.

I'll find a time, later on when KH has calmed down, to re-negotiate his access visits...funny how it's never an issue when DS decided not to go to his dad for a few weeks.... And it never occurs to him to take his kids on holiday - oh *slaps wrist* apparently (according to DS), KH HAS taken them 'on holiday'. Since when did a day trip to the seaside = holiday

    Thank you all once again...

Still trying to warm up here - although the fact that I can see my breath is a good sign that inside I'm toasty, just a pity about my fingers & toes (off to get some fluffy socks on as well as my furry boot slippers ). Going to go and get stuck in on the kitchen in a minute, ready to make myself some tea. :D

I've done 45mins of ironing and only managed to clear about a dozen things  I've got it all in a collapsible crate ATM and I can only just get another one sitting on top. :o Oh, and I have another 4 loads of washing still to do, and DD will be back on NYD with a suitcase of dirty washing & no doubt more new clothes  Its never ending and there's only the two of us!

Right, updatey list time, if its gone its done...

Monday ~ Kitchen and Dining Area
    Level One
    Sweep and SCRUB the floor
    Level Three
Clean and wipe the table, replace the cloth if necessary
    Dust and deweb
Wipe over the units and large appliances
    Extras
    [STRIKE]wash windows -[/STRIKE]
Scrub the sink and polish the taps
Scrub down any tiles that are looking icky
Wipe over all the small appliances

    Personal list :
Gifts to be [STRIKE]put upstairs [/STRIKE](mine to be put away)
    Laundry
    Budget
To-do lists by room - getting there slowly.
[STRIKE] Inventory of food[/STRIKE] Will play pot luck until NY then inventory whats left in the freezer - I suspect I'll have an entire shelf cleared :o

Still need to do the freeview recordings, and more ironing, but the washing up is calling me so I can get to the window and sink ;) HHC here I come!
