    And to quote Soappie ...

It is, I believe, short hand for a phrase that begins with a knob and ends in a head...

I'm back home. The car is unpacked (apart from a dustbin full of logs and a couple of sacks of logs and a bag of kindling which can wait until tomorrow!). I've just caught up on this week's thread, but not last weeks, but gather that Poppy is in need to hugs and flylady magic vibes to see her through a tough time (and that L-L's DH will be if he doesn't go back to work soon...:p.

Just defrosting the house . Plan for the rest of the day is light the fire, eat, have a bath and go to bed. Tomorrow I need to unpack and go food shopping, and prepare for a whole two days back at work!!

Thanks to the three musketeers for the lists and smooth running of this very [STRIKE]chatty[/STRIKE] hardworking thread.

Been trying to catch up with thread but you have been chatting nineteen to the dozen ;) Have done a few bits and pieces but nothing major. WM x 2 and emptied the dishwasher, full cooked breakfast at lunch time for DD and DS (couldn’t face one myself). Got a bit of a hangover as got lost in a bottle of Sambuca last night – think I was allowed under the circumstances, although don’t think it helped matters any
Want to send a huge thank you to you all for your hugs and kind words – you really are a lovely bunch and am so glad Jinky :kisses3:pointed me in this direction. DD is keeping her eye on me and has been a gem

Valli - looks like you need one of these :grouphug:

LadyL - special thanks for your concern and kindness :heart2:

Sorry I cant reply individually to you but hugs for you all

Right list!! Done very little off it but will try and catch up tomorrow. Feeling a bit ‘strange’ today and keep thinking random thoughts and wondering what the future may bring icon9.gif

Lot of ex issues on here atm. Is it due to the end of the year and a new start requested by one or another?

Mine is indifferent to me atm - no request to try again from him at all.

    Oh well,

Poppy - don't you worry about how much you have done today. For me I did the lists to take my mind off things when I felt up to it. At least the housework took my mind off things a little for periods of time. Big hug for you.

Nicki - what do you have in for tea? I'm having a jacket potato and some chickpea and aubergine mixture from the freezer and feta from the fridge.

I'm a bit bored now...need to find more things to do.....

    please can i rejoin?

Hello to everyone!!! Lots of names still on here from last time i was here. I would love to rejoin your thread. I have 'let it go' big time lately. I am very busy but that's not the point, the house should be clean. It's not that bad, just what with Christmas and the massive amount of presents received by all and nowhere to actually put them, it looks terrible. So from tonight I'm making a massive start to get my house in order.

Probably won't have time to read all the thread, boy you ladies can talk!!!! lol. If I read every message I won't have time for cleaning and de-cluttering. But I will pop on and let you all know how I am getting on.

Hope you all had a good Christmas, and here's to a clean and clutter free New Year.

    All the best taffy xx

Mine is because he didn't see the kids on Saturday...
I wouldn't take him back BUT he is so up himself he wouldn't stoop so low (in his opinion) as to beg...
Daft thing is a lot of it came about because he got his head full of stupid and wrong ideas about things and then was too proud to back down. Despite my asking him to come with me to Relate.
A shining example of pride coming before a fall.
DS has eaten no actual food all day but snacked on junk - that'll help his mood (not). He hasn't made his be but frankly I cannot be bothered to ask him and start him off again.

  • Well, I didn't quite adhere to list, but I did:
    Empty dishwasher and re-stack
Do some washing up by hand
    Partially clear work surfaces
    Partially sweep floor
Cleared washing up from draining board

It's not much, but it's a damn sight more than I did yesterday and the day before that.
Will sit for a while til my back eses up a bit and then tackle a little more.

It is lovely not feeling like the only one struggling to keep a tidy house.

All sorts and that was the problem. I've just slung a pizza in the remoska and got some olives & sundried tomatoes to nibble while I wait :o

Going to go and watch Top 20 shows that I recorded, and curl up with a mug of hot chocolate as I'm so cold.

Kitchen is looking much better and will hopefully be finished after tea, might finish some more ironing as well while I watch "John Tucker must die" or whatever it was from last night.

Right, off to drink this hot chocolate
