Hello fellow frugalteers
Been at work today (yes IN work rather than just working from home). Really enjoyed it. Had people to talk to
Hope all that are still stuck indoors are all okay and not climbing the walls too much
Had a NSD today and am planning one for tomorrow as well. Perhaps also Weds but Thursday definitely not as am going out for a meal with a palDon't get me wrong, good food, fab company but I just hate spending money!!!!!!
Feel a bit sick at the moment.......I've just eaten the BIL's birthday present...for the 2nd time. So am going to have to re-buy it again. Don't think I'll bother with Thorntons...will get him a voucher for B&Q0 -

Hey rubies - I was the same as you - regularly £100 per week for family of four plus menagerie.
So far in January I've spent about £11 and that includes all the pet food! The cat is by far our most expensive eater at the moment!
I'm lucky that I'm only about 2 miles from an ASDA - because of the bad weather I've managed to get some amazing whoopsies. My first shop, I got 6 jam packed bags of food for £2.12 - most things were 1p each. Todays shop was an essentials top-up: cat food, fruit, milk, porridge etc. Still came away with 3 bulging bags for my £9.
The only thing is, the way to do it cheaply is defo the supermarket route, like you I used to shop around, buy from farmers markets etc. ... could never have fed the family for £11 that way.
Also, because it's January - I had healthily stocked cupboards from over Xmas ... as the weeks go on, I suspect it will get harder as all my staples start to whittle away.0 -
Hello all,
Not a NSD again for me; still stuck on 2. I've not been out to do a proper grocery shop since last year. Now, normally I'd be pretty pleased with that, but the weather is the main reason. The ice on my road is leathal and I'm not brave enough to take the car. Popping out to the local shop has been ok, but I don't want to load myself up - I like to keep one hand free in case I fall. But the upshot is that I've been popping out to get things I need more often than I'd like. I didn't shop at all today, made sandwiches for lunch etc, but with not wanting to risk driving I decided to get the bus, so spent £3.40 on bus fares. All in all a LSD but I want to make more progress with my NSDs.
Well done everyone doing so well. Hugs to those who need them. All best wishes to everyone.0 -
