NSD no 6 for me today.

Doing well, hope to have another two this week before spending on Friday.

Glad this bad weather is doing some good by curbing our spending!

We had another meal from the freezer tonight:
I made lasagne using some HM Spag bol sauce (not enough for three adults), with a small tub of HM tomato & veg sauce added, together with some porridge oats. There was also a small amount of cheese sauce, to which I added plastic milk mixed with cornflour and a bit of extra cheese - very scrummy. There turned out to be more than plenty for the three of us, with DS2 (nearly 17 year-old BIG rugby player!) having seconds. As most was from the freezer and can't be re-frozen, DS2 has announced he is going to have the left-overs for breakfast - he has been trying to find good high protein breakfasts! Hope he doesn't want to make this a favourite meal for first thing. Well, it makes a change from eggs!
    :D

Right, going to finish off knitting the fronts of the cardigan I am knitting myself...makes a change after all the knitting I did for Christmas pressies!

    Have a good evening everyone.

    Hey Keiss

Am curious about this. How many oats? Can you taste them? I ask because I've been trying to bulk out my meals (but with things like beans) and also anyway I can get porridge oats inside me is good as they lower cholesterol

    Thanks

Hya curlygirl, this is the first time I have added porridge oats to spag bol. I usually add red lentils, but as everything was pretty well cooked, I was only re-heating before making up the lasagne and bunging it into the oven. I added a couple of handfulls, and they fairly bulked up and thickened the sauce, I had to add some water! I was worried they would be noticed by DH & DS2, but no, in fact they said how scrummy it was!! DS2 was quite impressed, as he knows how good oats are for him (he munches his way through LOADS of Twinks hob-nobs and flapjacks, but doesn't like porridge). The sauce went a bit creamy at first, but all was well when it came out of the oven. I will definitely be doing this again!! You certainly can't taste them, at least we couldn't!

    Hope this helps.
