Well the EHO inspector has just left - and he says I can go ahead :j:j:j
He was here for literally 10 minutes, he didn't even look in my gleaming cupboards or fridge, didn't ask to see my food hygiene certificate or painstakingly filled in safer foods folder, it was a doddle!
He didn't have a problem with me only having the one sink, as he said, I've got hot water and soap so not a problem. I've got a dog, he just said to make sure he's out of the kitchen while I'm baking, and to wipe down the kitchen surfaces when I'm done - common sense really. As he said; "No one has ever died from eating a cake!"
I'll get a certificate with my "scores on the doors" rating - 5*!
Right, off to research websites and business cards
Yay so happy for you Maisy! Don't forget vistaprint for business cardsoh im sooooo pleased! ive got my first order! trust me though-my first order is for an ann summers party and they would like pink cupcakes with a willy or two stuck on top! ha! some advice for people if you want to get your name out there...ive just volunteered to supply table favours for 300 people at a charity event for help the heroes where the high and mighty of torbay and exeter will be attending! yes i might have to fork out a bit but you've got to speculate to accumulate! so excited!
I agree this is a really good idea :T Have you asked them if you can put little signs around the cupcakes saying "donated by nat21luv" so that people know you made them?
I saw a charity event in my local paper & thought about asking them if I could provide cupcakes...I think i'm going to bite the bullet and do it now, you've spurred me on Nat! Think happy & you'll be happy

It's hard finding a logo designer, I searched for ages and only found Ella Announcements because somebody recommended her to me and I loved her designs and her price.
Why not just go to a Website Designer? Any good Website designer will be able to design and create a logo for you to use.
I would offer my services but I'm on Mat Leave at the moment so can't earn anything
If anyone wants though I can PM my collegues details.
I'm really getting an itch to do baking. It really doesn't help that my 3 week old won't stop feeding so I can't really bake anything :rotfl:
I've only made 2 cakes so far. One was for was for OH's grandads 80th birthday. It went down well apparently.
The other I made in my Sugarcraft Lesson.Unfortunately they never did the level 2 one this year as apparently there wasn't enough government funding

I've made a few cakes for family and friends (pics on my blog/homepage) and people keep telling me I should go into business but I'm not sure if I feel confident/good enough and just wondered how others felt before they made the decision
Your cakes look fab. If they taste half as good as they look, they're definitely good enough to sell.Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -

Went to my cupcake decorating class tonight, forgot it was cupcakes & biscuits...was a bit surprised when she said we'd be making flapjack and shortbread! Decorating cupcakes next week though, yay!
This class seems a lot more fun than the cake decorating, maybe because the people seem a little bit friendlier. I think i'll learn a lot more from the cake decorating one though. Think happy & you'll be happy
