I bought a silicone one from one of the cake dec suppliers on here. It was £8.99 (will have to go through my emails when i am not at work LOL)
There is a place called "redsave" who sell them, but they have had a lot of bad feedback (do a search on MSE) so I would stay well clear of them

Please search for me "wokingham cakes" there are a few cakes uploaded I have done at cost . Hope I will do well like some of you have.

I am sure you will be fine, had my inspection this week and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I finished my cake decorating course yesterday, got a merit award for my sugar paste cake, yay! :j Don't know how well I did on the actual course as we don't get our certificates til August.

Wanted to do level 2 but they've put the price up to £470! And there's no funding available so can't afford it. Really disappointed as level 2 seemed to be a lot more modelling rather than royal icing. :(

I don't know if that has been discussed yet but I am terrible when it comes to staying away from the cake mix :-( Also, after cutting off the top of the cakes I ALWAYS have a nibble...wah!!How do you manage your weight when baking cakes? I always get very stressed when I bake a wedding cake and end up not eating anything all day but cake!!!!

How to you stay away from it? Or are just sick of it after a while?

I am sick of it now! Mostly anyway, I do love my banana & chocolate chip cupcakes but that's about it. I do have to try them when i'm trying new flavours though.

With regards to weight, i'm one of those really annoying people who can eat whatever they like, do no exercise and put on no weight so even if I did eat loads, it wouldn't affect me. :o

  • Hello all,

Am also new to the Baking From Home brigade! I was just wondering how everyone else deals with paperwork side of things? At the moment I have a receipt book from Staples and I just handwrite a receipt out when someone pays me...

I have been doing the same, just a hand written receipt. Due to "word of mouth" we have been getting orders from people we do not know and have decided to take deposits from them, but to be honest we should be doing it for all orders now.

As for other paperwork, I really need some help too with "costings". I have tried a cpl of times to try and get something on a spreadsheet, but it doesnt work out ..... if anyone has a template or starting point for a costings spreadsheet (wink wink)
