  • had a good day today

had a proper sort through the present that we recieved and theres 2 lovley toiletry sets to re gift, i'm not being ungrateful but i've got dodgy skin and theres no way i can use them so theres 2 neices sorted. Got my bil a spice rack from mr t's £2.25 down from £9.00 and ive also got a male smelly set left over that i overbought so ive got 4 already

got my cards from tesco 2 packs for 62p and paper from m&s for 50p a roll so got 10 rolls that will double up for birthdays as well as its not christmassy.

Also sorted dd1 for easter as we decided we were going to get them dressing up outifts as that was one thing they love but we ran out of money so both dd's didnt get them for christmas. Found the disney belle one in m&s reduced to £9.00.

Hope everyones had a good day

  • I want to do things abit more leisurely this year as I felt that I was rushing to buy presents in December for the sake of buying. Hopefully by following these threads I will get sorted a bit sooner for a lot cheaper. Already started a quiet night in hamper for my sister with a hotwater bottle at £2.50. Does anyone know where I can get the actual baskets from?

Hi - have just found this thread.

As usual visited a number of Charity shops earlier in the week & stocked up on reduced price Xmas wrapping paper & half price cards ready for next year
  • poohspals: I bought some wicker laundry baskets on Wednesday for 99p each at my local 99p shop, which I will be using for hampers next Christmas. They are just the right size for what I intend to put in them.

I picked up some largish baskets in Tesco the other day for £2.00. They are quite a good size and will make a lovely hamper.

I had a look in the sales but have just brought my x-mas cards for next year, there didnt seem to be any good bargains about. want to start earlier this year, just stuck on what to do my friend and her boyfriend would like to do them a movie hamper but he cant watch films as he just falls asleep, so will either do something different or just do them seperate gifts. same goes for my brother and his girlfriend and mum and dad just dont have a clue what to do for eveyone, but will be keeping my eyes open in town when i go in,

There doesnt seem to be any bargains anywhere. Most of the gift items in Hartlepool were sold off the week before Christmas.

Im looking to do a movie hamper for my nephew as he is getting harder and harder to buy for. He is 12 year old now and is into golf and football so think will do something along those lines but hopefully as cheap as possible as he likes money to buy his own things now.
  • Got another pressie towards Christmas today: a lovely pair of fair isle, bootee-type slippers with bobbles for my sis in law's hamper - £1.

(Got myself a pair too to wear now, they look lovely and warm)
