hello all,
i had a bash at th sales on sunday and what a waste of time, wilko's shelves were bear, i hate the shops opening boxing day and i refuse to go, but thats when every one else snaps up the bargains!!
oh well i do have 2 rolls of the m&s wrapping paper that was on offer in december left, plus i got some xmas cards for £1 from asda. other than that nothing left to be had.
i was quite gutted as for the past 2 years i have bought the cards with a space for a photo and sent them to all family, but this time i can't find any!
oh well, i live in hope that the shops will now buy more stock and with luck the summer sales will be better??0 -

Our shops were the same. When I spoke to one of the sales assistants in Asda and Wilkinsons they said they started the sale on Christmas Eve so by the time I got there they had all gone.0 -
Visited a shopping centre in east end of glasgow and managed to buy 2 rolls of wrapping paper (12m) in total for a £1 and stocked up in christmas card sets for 50p each from card factory and bows and gift tags. Ok for cards, bows, gift tags for 2010 = not sure if I have enough wrapping paper but have a bit left over. Only got the personalised cards to buy and hopefully will get them in the next week or so.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46

Went to town today and went in card factory - managed to get 5 packs of cards and 6 rolls of paper for £4.
Really worried cos Boots had empty shelves and am waiting for 75% sale. Hope they have stuff in stock room lol!0 -
Just won a No 17 make up box (30 quid) which I wanted to pick up in the 1/2 price sale and was sold out. Just won one on ebay for 9 quid including postage. I will have one very happy niece come next year. Now just need to find something that is suited to her 6 yr old sister.0

I started too, the first time ever! This year dh was laid off in November so I made sure our kids were done first. I asked everyone not to do presents but everyone insisted they had to get us gifts which meant I did some last minute crafts which went straight over everyones heads. I was a bit annoyed at their response (or lack of) and decided that next Christmas they'll all get something that they'll probably not want but that involved shopping and money (rather than time and effort) on my part. Visited Boots still ranting and found some perfect gifts.
Set of minature perfumes for Mum (£8 paid with points)
Bird clock for Dad (£7.50)
Nivea set for sil (£3)
Ted Baker flannel and wash for sil son (£2.50).
Cheaper than this years crafts and easier to wrap. Also got a roll of disney wrapping paper in Tesco although still have some left from this year. I will make tags out of this years Christmas cards (this year I just used plain white paper) and still have plenty of shop bought cards as I didn't send any.
I will make Christmas cards nearer the time. This year I bought 50 plain white cards and envelopes (£5 Tesco) and printed a photo of my children by a Christmas tree (nine to an A4 page) and stuck them on the front, great for the family. Have loads of blank cards left so will do the same. I've also just read the pots-of-gold thread and think that is something that I can do so that will be a project for November when hopefully all the shopping is doneDebt Free: 01/01/2020
