  • Hi Everyone! When I saw 2010 I was like :rotfl: but I must admit I really ENJOYED this Christmas and yesterday a little bit of me was like.....I can't wait until next year!!

So yes I would like to join up and get organised and have an even better stress free money saving Christmas next year. I really want to remember how I feel about this Christmas - I did not always enjoy the run up etc to Christmas at work and was not always excited but once I was off with my OH it was great. Last night he said it was the best Christmas Eve and Day ever and a great meal - with a £1.50 Tesco Turkey Leg:cool:

I braved Meadowhall yesterday and have to say I was not too impressed. I was impressed by New Look shoes but am sure some of them were on sale at that price before. I thought all the clothes on offer were plain tops etc and all in bulk - like 50 green tops for £5 instead of lots of different things. I got a good few things at La Senza. Primark was RUBBISH! The only thing that seemed to be on sale were some ladies dress up santa skirts for £3 - I never saw them in there BEFORE Christmas!!!

So count me in and I will try to get organised once!

  • Hi all
Well just got back from a very inspiring shopping trip. Got a carrier bag full of goodies for £4 in superdrug including furry slippers for 49p , got 4 xmas mugs for next years snowman soup for 50p each in poundstrecher, but best buy was 4 wicker laundry baskets in the 99p shop for (yep you guessed it) 99p each. Also picked up 6 gold charger plates for 50p each in the 99p shop as all their xmas stock is reduced to 50p.
Just got to find a box to hide it all in (and remember where i put it lol).
    :j
  • I read the thread last year but didnt really input. I had a great day but decided this year im going to set a budget and stick to it as I just kept buying last year and got the family far too much.

Made a start in the Boots sale and also went into Clintons and got 1/2 price me to you money box and bear which my niece will love. Been into Wilkinsons today and bought some half price wrapping paper and also a large gift box for 1.50 for my friends hamper. Picked up a FCUK hatbox from last year at a bootsale which was missing the headband and also a FCUK pamper me set for 50p. Both boxes were slightly damaged so will make these into a hamper.

Got up and to the Next sale for 7am yesterday but I only bought about 3 things , last year I managed to kit out the sprog for at least 2 years (I was 3months pregnant at the time lol)

Went into Boots for it opening and again it was pants. Finally gave up at 9.30 and went home. Don't know if it was just me, or that the shops in Livingston were well crap for there selection of stock.

Even Matalan had about 3 sale rails and it was all tat.

Was thoroughly disappointed! Oh well, just under a year to pick up bits and bobs.

I have started a notebook and in it I am going to write down everything I've bought and where I've put it!

I'm not going near the shops til Tuesday. If there are any half price wrapping paper and cards I will buy them then.

I've also got my eye on some of the cards the kids got for Christmas - they are quite simple pictures so should be able to cut them up and use them for tags.

I really like the sock dogs on another thread - will definately have a go at them.

Hello Ladies and Gents (if any)

I was a lurker for 09 but hope to join in for 2010!

I hit the sales yday with my tag team partner - my mother. We hit next for 7am, madness! nearly didnt make it out alive was sooo mental. Not as good as last year where i sorted both kids for the year, only 2 things for my daughter and a handfull of bits for my son. However did get a good selection of gifts for girls in the family, very pleased with those.

We then hit boots and did really well, only spent £35!! Great offers on the aftershave and purfume for anyone wanting this!! Joop gift set £13!

Town was so busy so everyone must have cottoned on to the idea of this thread, im very pleased i think i have got almost every birthday dorted for the year give or take a few

Well this year sort of went to plan... but there's lots of things that could have been better organised. In the past I was always done and dusted by the 1st December except for any baking but this year I started doing voluntary work in a school 5 days a week and as a result I was no where near as organised as I usually am :o I have learnt my lesson. I'm starting next years NOW! :D

  • wendy+5 writing down what you bought and where you put it is a great idea. I bought loads of things early, forgot where I put them and found them on Boxing Day, did make Christmas gifts last longer though :)

    Hi,

    I ventured to Livingston centre and thought it was ok;

    Here's what I thought were good buys;
    • M&S Outelet – 3 x different pks 25 cards 0.49p each (RRP £5 – Last years range), 1 x Happy Christmas dad card 29p (RRP£2.50), I didn’t buy any good quality wrapping paper at 50p/roll as I still have 8-10 individual rolls
    • River Island – really good selection -1 top £15 (was £29.99), gilet £25 (was £39.99) another gilet £20 (was £44.99)
    • Next Clearance – olive oil and spices set £6 (was £14), 2 x prs Holmer Simpson Xmas socks £2 (was £7), 2 x individual pairs of mens socks 50p each (was £3.50ea), pk of 4 socks £2 (was originally 5 for £10 but 1 pair missing), 1 pr mens Xmas socks £1, pk of 2 fathers day socks £1, 1 small cashmere bath essence and pearls £2 (was £6), body wash and deodorant set £3 (was £7), 2 x ties £2 each (was £18 ea from their premium range)
    • Boots; 2 x miniature perfume sets (1/2 price and 1/3 off), 2 xTrevor Sorbet body wash and deodorant set £3ea (was £6), another perfume set ½ price, Sanctuary hand wash/cream set ½ price, a Lynx set £4
    • TK Maxx – box of 3 Betsey Johnson socks £4 (only box I found at that price), box of 3 Calvin Klein socks £8, box of 3 Saville Row socks £7, pk of 3 Fenchurch socks £3
    • Whittards – tin with Xmas coffee £3 (was £6), best before Summer 2011 so my DH will get that next Xmas
    • M&S – brought a reduced bracelet, pk of 3 Xmas socks, keyring and money tin - they had their usual Xmas stuff, decent amount of childrens clothing/ books, mens shirts but very little adult gift sets compared to last year
    • Top Shop sale was rubbish as was the Asda sale unless you needed Olay handcream which was something like £2.50. As for Superdrugs - aside from the perfume sets and the odd £1.99 sale item I couldn't see anything (although I was rushing home at the point), Poundland had all their Xmas stuff on one shelf with no pricing but was poor quality in my opinion
    Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)
    Boots points: £0.28
    Pigsback points: 715 (4 xBoots£10 & 1 xPizzaHut£10, 2 x £10 clothing vouchers)
    Mutual points: 3417 (redeemed 8250)
    Rpoints:redeemed 28925 points)Cashbag:£8.91(£20)
