Hello, I hope you organised people don't mind if I join you! I always used to be really organised myself when I was with my ex, all cards and wrap etc bought in Jan sales, along with some pressies and gathered the rest through the year. Now I'm with my slightly less organised OH (before I came along his idea of Xmas shopping was to pop into town after work finished at lunchtime on Xmas Eve to do his shopping...) I'm not going so well lol, although I do have all my cards, wrap and gift bags etc.
I have a box with some books, smellies and other bits in it on the top of the wardrobe but I need to get a chair upstairs so I can have a good rummage and see what's actually there. After spending some time reading through this and other Christmas related threads I went into town this morning whilst DD2 was at pre-school and managed to pick up 2 x 4 pint glasses at Wilkos (£1 down to 89p) for making several pints of socks, and a few little stocking fillers etc for my 2 girls.
In Primark I got 4 x 2 pack of creamy coloured socks with shimmery gold detail (1 pair with very thin gold stripes, and the other with tiny gold dots) down from £1.50 to £1 a pack. That's for the ladies sock cupcakes....totally forgot to look for socks for the pints of socks, but they will save for next time!
Also popped into Claire's Accessories and got a few bits for my girls and a couple of school friends, all from their sale section.
I wouldn't have gone today if it wasn't for all your ideas and inspiration, so thank you for giving me the kick up the bum I need to get me started!Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

I'm pleased with myself today, I recently sold some boots on eBay and from the money I made I bought more stuff for my hampers. Couldn't carry it all home though so ended up leaving the jam, fruit salad and chilli sauce in work until Monday.
This year i've decided to just use cardboard boxes for my hampers instead of baskets. I figured if I wrap them in festive paper (10p a pack, last years sales!) and then wrap the lot in cellophane no-one is really going to notice if it's a box or a basket plus at least they can be recycled afterwards.
There's currently a price war on big tins of chocolates, Tesco is selling them £5 each, Asda 2 for £10 and the co-op have them for £4.75 so if you have the cash I recommend stocking up (co-op's offer expires 21st Sept, not sure about the others)Overdraft- [strike]£500[/strike] PAID! WOOO just found this thread. I spread mine over the year, well started a few weeks ago, SO far I have bought PJ's and a few little bits to go with them for my 3 sisters, brothers girlfriend. I have bought the same also for my niece. From primark in-expensive and looks good with a few little bits instead of one thing. I have bought 4 nephews boys toys. And I think im doing quite well, its much easier spreading over the year than rushing round last minute, if your like me trying to find the money last minute aswell!0

Well I'm more organised now - so far I have:
*allocated all 'recycled' gifts
*made list of recipients of HM xmas cards - everyone else will be having the ones I bought in the Jan sales
*started a Christmas food stash - so far I have 2 large tins of chocs from Co-Op, 2 half price selection boxes from Mr T's, box of shortbread and 2 boxes of Cadbury's Festive Friend biccies
Going to take a trip to town tomo and buy some presents off my list in B&M and Wilkies, and am planning a trip to Cardiff next week to get PJ's etc for xmas eve hamper in Primark.
Getting v excited now!!!*** PROPHECY_GRRL****** DEBT FREE AS OF 17/10/11 - I DID IT!!! ***0 -
prophecy_grrl did you get your festive friends biscuits from the co-op? I noticed they were half price
I've managed to wrap up my sister's pamper box, cost me £3.84 altogether plus I recycled some toiletries and make-up that i'd bought or been given and just never used. She's got a really nice selection of stuff that cost very little and looks really nice so i'm really pleased.
I've only got the tea and after eights to buy for my food hampers now and they can be picked up cheaply from the local pound shop, unless anyone can recommend anywhere that's selling cheap after eights?
Oh yes and one thing that I found out that really made my day is that there is a Wilkinsons opening in the Arndale centre in Manchester, which means I don't have to take 2 buses to get the one near my mums yay!Overdraft- [strike]£500[/strike] PAID! itsybitsygoth - I did get them in co-op, bargain!
My plan of going shopping today has been scuppered by waking this morning with a banging headache, chills and runny nose. Joy. Am lying on the settee instead as DS is having a nap. I will make a trip to town this week tho I promise myself!*** PROPHECY_GRRL****** DEBT FREE AS OF 17/10/11 - I DID IT!!! ***0
