Hi. Some advice needed please. My nan passed away 4 weeks ago. Normally I give my aunt and her family a joint pressie(tin of sweets or similar). This year I'd like to do something re photos(I have 4 standard pictures of my nan),and would like to get copies of pics and display them as a gift. I didn't want to get 4 individual frames,so does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do with them?

    Thanks in advance x

Sorry to hear you have lost your nan, how about doing a scrap book type layout and framing it.

What do you think? (sorry thats come out huge, the insert image button never works for me and my photobucket seems to have corrupted somehow and i cant add photos to it)
I reckon it needs something more... Sparkley bits or tissue paper or something... just dont know what?!
How about filling it up with something that resembles the look of snow? Like little foam balls? Or is that a rubbish idea? :S

Sorry to hear about you Nan. If you found a nice frame, you could always get a mount cut from a frame shop and that way you could lay it out and have the sizes you wanted. HTH x

If you don't want to get a mount cut, then search for 4 Aperture Frames, they are basically 1 frame with the mount already cut to house 4 photos.

No thats a really good idea actually - thanks!

I just bought shredded green tissue and small red heart foil confetti but i think your idea is much more sensible so will put that in the craft box and get some snow like stuff. Brill idea! :T

I've done a search but can't find this.
A great present for doting grandparent or even parents is to make a picture collage, I make them using Picasa ( free download ) and then I just shove them in a cheap frame from a pound shop. This is one I did for my dad, it's pictures of my mum who has dementia and is in hospital, he loved it and had no idea it only cost £1 plus the cost of printing the picture ( A4 ), I've also done them for my brats with pictures of my grandbrats.

    Hi everyone,
Loving the thread ... think I need to do some serious reading of all of it!
We've started out shopping already ... made a spreadsheet last week and already need to update it, ordered a few bits, mainly from the Debenhams sale.
Have been trying to think about some ideas that our LOs (4 and 1) could give to the family from themselves, we usually do a photgift but am running out of different ideas now. Was thinking something along the lines of snowman soups as its something our 4 year old could technically go and buy in the supermarket, pick some mugs etc and wrap it herself. Does anyone have any pictures of some they have done or any other ideas similar please? Ideally something our 4 year old could do the majority herself.
Also, really love the hamper idea for the children ... think I will give that a go as think it'd really get her excited if we gave it on christmas eve.
    TIA x

in hobbycraft they sell little paper mache boxes (theyre a lot stronger than they sound!) about 79p each (if i remember rightly!), my two are 3 and 2 and they'll be decorating them with paints and glitter. they'll then make cookies or rice krispie cakes (obviously not on they're own!) and pop them inside. they'll give these out to 'special people' - grandparents aunties and uncles.
the kids love giving the away things they make themselves and everyone is very apprieciative of it and make a big fuss about it!

also another idea is to buy plain baubles (hobbycraft (hope you have one near you?) sell polystyrene ones, which are pretty cheap) which kids can decorate to hand out, then the reciever gets something they can keep.

i like the snow idea but can i also suggest you add another colour ribbon in addition to the one you have. i think it would just 'set it off'
