Went to the 99p shop yesterday and picked up three colouring packs, one Dora the Explorer, one Peppa Pig and one Ben Ten for my Mom's three foster kids. They're their favourite characters, so I couldn't leave them there! In each pack there are 8 colouring sheets, some coloured pencils, and some re-usable stickers. Only something small, but they'll like them.

Also bought some 69p bath bombs in Home Bargains, which will look nice re-done in some better wrapping.
    Saving for a house deposit.

Trying to sort clutter and sell as much as possible to make room and money!
  • Hello,

I've been reading the thread avidly and now that the weather seems to have taken a turn for the worst and my summer holiday is out of the way I feel like I can crack on with christmas. My family are doing secret santa this year which should save us a fortune but I still have the future in laws to buy for. My fiance's dad is impossible to buy for and always says he doesn't want anything when you ask but does so much for us. He is building their new home from scratch soon, so I'm thinking of doing him a hamper of bits that he'll appreciate whilst he's doing that. He's already got a new thermos from his birthday so I was thinking a fleece, gloves and a hat. Maybe some nice biscuits to go with the tea. Anything else you can think of?

    :D

Just started thinking about Christmas this week. This year (for the first time!) I've decided I'm going to spread my present buying out over the next couple of months, rather than do it all in the fortnight before Christmas and watch in despair as my bank balance takes a nose dive.

I'm finding it hard thinking about present buying this year because my long term relationship ended in March and we lost my grandad in June. So that's two people less and it makes me upset thinking about it. So I'm trying to focus on finding fun things for people still on my list and I figure if I start looking now, I'm more likely to find things which are different and interesting because I'm not last-minute buying :)

(Oh and I've also got 3 birthday's before Christmas to think about as well :rotfl: )

All my shopping is done, I get it done throughout the year so it doesn't sting so much in December :)

Cards and paper are already bought (25p/pack in Ikea last January) and I'm going to wrap them early too :D

Shopping wise, I find dealextreme.com and halfcost.co.uk excellent for fun gifts, although with DX I only buy things with good reviews.

Since it is cold and rainy/stormy outside, I'm considering wrapping some stuff today while the weather cooperates!

    Hi All

Figured I would pop in on my rare off chance on the computer now - since my new addition turned up I have managed to successfully get on line 3 times since her arrival and how apt that her name is festive and fits with the thread - baby holly is definitely making Xmas planning and shopping more interesting and slightly expensive!

Have done very little but brought a few bits before she arrived so have made a slight start but will have to wait until after the summer holidays now so when Ben goes back to school I can go through my under bed boxes and see what is left in them - no idea to be honest what's in there at the minute. Plus if I start looking now gaurenteed a bottle feed/nappy change will get in the way and ben will see some things ive hidden away for him.

Speaking of which I will catch up on the thread when I get five minutes peace but someone is demanding another feed so it will have to wait for now but will get planning a list asap!
    Time to find me again

    Hi all

I went into my local BHS today and all their accessories are really cheap almost 75% off and buy one get one free and an extra 20% off

I thought it was too good to be true so only picked up 2 things and sure enough when put through the check out £8 and £9 ring reduced to £2 each they went through at £1.60 for the 2 !!!

As you can imagine I went back through my list of people left to buy for and matched presents to people and covered presents for 4 people for £6.40 !! Bargain and they will never suspect as they look expensive gifts.

    Happy shopping

    Tiny Tink x
