Well, I have started on a sock monkey tonight!!!! Although it may get given as a birthday present or to my mum to sell on her craft stall - at least I started!! Yay!!!!!!0
-
I was given a few duplicate gifts so I am going to put them in my present drawer for next year. Going to hit the sales tomorrow to pick up bits and pieces if there is anything worth stocking up on.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

I went to sales today and the way people were shopping there'll be nothing left tomorrow!!! It was much, much worse than last year. It's got to have been a 2 hour wait to get INTO Next
I must admit I did buy some bits and peices for birthdays and next Christmas but got the lot for less than £30, should have been over £70 last week.
Good luck everyone if you're going to the sales tomorrow - you'll need it.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Hi guys - I'm glad to be here to start for next year already!
Was working today so popped by the sales on the way home. Was very good at resisting naughty things and only bought a gift for my Goddaughter's birthday (next month), and two small toiletry sets for those random, unexpected birthdays which occur during the year.
I'm normally rubbish at buying and sending cards at Christmas, so I'm thinking of buying craft stuff to make them during the year, as well as birthday cards for my neice and nephew who make me mine every year. The same goes for the Christmas cake and puds, which didn't happen this year (that was my mum's job but I don't plan to be living at home next year so I will make them myself for my house for next year).
I have to say, my Christmas presents for this year went down an absolute treat this year so here's to advance planning for 2010! :beer:Please call me 'Pickle'

I've been so inspired this year but didn't officially join. We made pots of gold, which went down a treat, and some homemade sweets but hopefully next year I can have a sock monkey and sock dog for my sons too.
So I'm joining and subscribing now, to keep up to date with everything.0 -
Just realised that I might have confused this thread and the crafting for Christmas one. Does it matter?
I've got quite a few Christmas cards left (having misplaced, then replaced, then refound them a couple of weeks ago) ready for next year and lots of very tidy gift and bottle bags left from yesterday ready to re-use.
I did go to the sales today but didn't get any gifts for next year, because I'm out of work at the moment and hope I'll be in a better position to spend on gifts at the end of the year. But I'll try to craft as many as possible too.0 -
Happy new thread. :j
I was impressed - i got into next - 10am - picked up a lush pair of dungarees for DS (ok so they are 2 years too big for him but they'll save) - and paid WITHOUT QUEUING!!!!!!!
I have just ordered 5 humerous books (things like "101 things NOT to do before you die") for b'days/ christmas from Waterstones online - 5 books for £12 plus free delivery to store.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Nope!In fact, you can clue some of us (read 'me') in on the art of crafting. I was thinking of making my own cards, but see that you have many more far clever ideas than just those. Please let us know anything else you can think of, and we can all get cracking. :T

Going sales shopping tomorro god help me, but im abit skint so wont be buying too much!
Today havent done much, but I did pop into my local superdrug when I went to the coop, and picked up a teddy and bathbomb giftset thingy for 99p, and 2 boxed hand creams for 49p each, so at least ive made a start (on 26th december 2009 for 25th december 2010 lol), didnt think I would ever see the day!!
Good luck to everyone for the sales tomorro! xxx'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0 -
oh yes...me too
I am sat here this morning with horrible sore throat, feeling so totally exhausted and as if I have been run over by a bus.Right now I feel itwas just all tooooo much! With 6 DC , and various others to buy for, it seems that October is FAR too late to sartt organising Christmas!
Nextyear WILL be different! I WILL be ready earlier, and then maybe I stand a chance of actually enjoying Christmas, and not left feeling exhausted , run down and overwhelmed!!
Ok moan over...LOL0
