Morning all.... Been to Boots this morning for DD's nappies and bought nothing! Realised they must put all the baby stuff at the back of their stores so us poor mums have to walk 1/4 mile through beauty product heaven... well haha Boots I resisted :) (just) If I wasn't doing this challenge I'll freely admit I would've bought bits

  • Morning all. Just about to get rid of one more thing: Frizz Ease Curl Controller gel. It's aboulf half-used and frankly I can't imagine how I managed to use so much. I found it in my drawer this morning and thought "I'll try this one, after all I'll be wearing a hat today so it won't really matter how my hair looks" but it's SOOOO awful , all crunchy and straw-like, this tube is going in the bin!

I was just wondering when other people on here first started accumulating all their stash. I am sure that I started mine when I turned 30. I think I discovered Space nk at around about the same time. I think it started with me looking for the elixir of youth. I couldn't find it with their expensive products. I think then I got seduced by Boots and Superdrugs marketing ploys and the hope of finding what I was looking for with cheaper products. So here I am 15 years later none the wiser and can't move for products. Now my downfall is all the cheap internet sites. (obviously up until I joined this challenge)

I think I started mine when I was about 19 and started buying Clinique, I would find any excuse to buy stuff so I could get the GWP (which I would stash away). Then I moved to the UK 7 years ago (I left a lot of my stash at home for my mum and some of it is still lying around unused) and I discovered Boots in a big way and my stash has grown at a crazy rate since then (I even got an advantage card on my very first trip to Boots)!!

On another thread i have put the list of people taking part on page 2 and dont know if its possible for me to move this post up the list so it appears on page 1. I can't edit any of my comments from page 1 as i do not have any.

My mum helpfully  gave me some talculm powder and i have no use for it. Is there anything i can use it for otherwise im going to give it to the charity shop as it is taking up space in the bathroom cabinet.

You can use it as dry shampoo. If you add a bit to your hairbrush it will distribute more evenly than just putting it straight on your hair. Having said that, I've got an old tub of talc I'm thinking of getting rid of because I don't really use talc and I don't use dry shampoo either. ;)

Following on from the last post, I sometimes use talc as dry shampoo if I have run out of Batiste. It is quite good, but you really have to make sure that you have brushed it through properly!

I think my toiletry addiction started with Body Shop and Cosmetics To Go which became Lush. Love Lush stuff especially the shower gels. I've got one called 'Happy for Sad' to use in the winter. Now buy more M&S stuff as it's got the rabbit logo and BUAV approved. (Not buying until I've finished most of it:j)

Will find it hard when Lush start selling their new bath melts.:eek::eek:
    I went away and now I'm back.:j:j

It's a shame we couldn't set up some sort of 'swap shop' for beauty products etc - I'm sure some people on here might love Impulse body spray for example, and I've got two here that I will NEVER use.
