Not sure if they'd be suitable as you use it all over your face, but the Bourjois blusher pots are really great. I'm getting low on mine and will be buying again.
In the spirit of this thread, I'm sitting here moisturised to the max and with clay smeared all over my face. I can't move and my OH thinks I'm a fool!0 -

Also, I got the S&G hand cream in my hatbox and I'm in love! I had been planning on spending my points on Benefit Dandelion Powder but it's £22.50 and I only have £17 in points on my card. I was thinking that if I can find something similar but cheaper I can use my points and any leftover points will go to buying more hand cream when I run out.
So, toiletries addicts, what is as good but less expensive than Dandelion? Would this one do a similar job? (I could use my £5 off voucher then pay with points couldn't I?)

There are quite a few people selling Dandelion on Ebay. My DD discovered my pot... she looked like a little piglet walking into the bedroom with it all smeared on her face!
Lol thats so sweet, my 3yr old ds loves having lipgloss on:rotfl:. He purses his lips in anticipation.
Ive also decided to make my products work that bit harder and do double duty when needed eg
I have 3 foot creams but tons of body butters so reckon seeing as i tend to put socks on after slathering my feet the body butters should work fine on my feet when i run out. Also have only one tube of foot scrub (in use at mo) yet tons of body scrubs and so again i will use them on my feet rather than keep buying new products. Now im off to put my overnight hair treatment on then to bed.
night folks

i wouldn't worry about it... some people are using up things which only contained dregs anyway. Others are being more liberal than perhaps they used to be with their products, having discovered the full extent of their stash.
as an example, although i shower/bath pretty much daily, a bottle of shower gel can last me ages. a little goes a long way, and does the same job as a several huge handfuls. if you use one of those bath puff things you get no end of foam from very little product. i don't plan to be wasteful with stuff just because i have plenty of it. by using it sensibly my stash will last a long time, eneabling me to save even more money whilst still smelling gorgeous.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

Part of my (insane!) budget for the year is £20 per month to cover cleaning products/toiletries. This is not unachievable (as I found out when I inventoried the toiletries and cleaning products!) As I said before I have £17 in Boots points, so if there was a cheaper alternative to Dandelion I would buy this with my points. If not, I have £8 credit in my PayPal account so could buy it from Ebay - just worried about fakes
At the end of the day, my crazy budget is all about making choices to spend less, I'm just not sure I'm willing to do that with make-up! Most of the products I use are higher-end (Not as high-end as Chanel for example, but Benefit, MAC etc) because I find they are better quality. I think this will give me dilemmas later on in the year0 -

Could it be a chance to try out some of the cheaper brands? I'm a huge makeup fan but apart from Touche Eclait and Benefit High Beam/PoisieTint, everything I buy is relatively cheap.
I think there's a thread on this board about the cheaper makeup brands and which are better, but I really love Bourjois (I hear this is the high street version of Chanel, made by the same people), Collection 2000, E.L.F and Prestige. And whenever I do want to splash out a bit more, I check eBay first. You can spot the fakes a mile off if you read the guides and check the seller feedback.0 -
just found this thread and it exactly what I need to stay motivated and stop buying cosmetics and toiletries.
I'm going to make a list of everything I own and mark it off as I use it up!
goodluck everyone!Money paid out from Topcashback so far= £105.89 :j

Actually, I did read that earlier as "........budget for the year is £20....."!!!!!!!!!!! and since it's only 5th of Jan ............
No I agree absolutely about choices. Making the choices that are right for you and sticking to them is part of the plan. I spend a fortune having my hair professionally recoloured every 4 weeks(when I could buy a £3 box). ATM it's not something I'm prepared to compromise on (unless the worst happened) but I'm OK about scrimping on other stuff.
I think with the discipline of a self-imposed budget and rules, we can make more careful considered choices, as you are here, rather than impulse buys and appreciate and enjoy what we buy a bit more!
PS
I've also decided to compile a serious and detailed "wish-list" this year.
With Valentine's Day (I should be so lucky!) Mother's Day and Easter just around the corner, if anyone asks me what I'd like I'll have some serious suggestions for 'wants and needs' at the ready, instead of getting random stuff!
This challenge has also made me think about the worth of the "nice little toiletries gift set" that I have a tendency to buy for other people.............maybe I can do better?0
