Here's a low-down on my recent toiletry trials and tribulations. I was very good last night and used shower gel I don't really like (a trial product from Cosmo) instead of the one I wanted to use (Original Source Manuka Honey and Cranberry) because I haven't got much more left in the bottle. It also occurred to me I've got a load of hotel mini shampoos and shower gels that I'm slightly dubious about using (I don't know why I keep on taking them  ) so I thought I could use them up as everyday bubble bath to make my better stuff last longer. I've put one by the side of the bath.

I do the same thing. I once took home around 7 mini soaps from a holiday when I was younger, and when I got home I was so embarrassed with myself knowing that I'd never use them, so I just threw them outside.
I can't allow myself to throw the mini bottles away now though..0 -

Good to know I'm not the only one - what are we like? I don't like binning the mini (empty) bottles either - I reason that I'll be able to refill them and take them away with me. I should probably limit the number I keep though.

No need! There'll be free mini shampoos and body washes wherever you go! :rotfl:0 -

Just say No! I used to nick um borrow permanently hotel stuff but in the end I generally found it all too harsh for me.
If you do have a stash you need to get rid of, do you know anyone going into or in hospital - a little bag of bits would probably be really welcome. Or perhaps put them in your child's swim bag?

Just made a start on itemising some of my stash - gave up after doing one wardrobe - so far:-
showergels x 30 full size 9, small, 2 mens
suncreams x 10 15/20 factor
aftersun x 5
fake tan x 10
baby wipes x 6
body Butters x 6 large pots, 10 small pots
body Lotions x 29!
Scrubs (facial and body) 25!
foot/hand creams x 17
hair curl products x 7
hair sun protections x 3
various other hair products 46 - not including open products
face creams x 14
other facials stuff cleansers, etc, x 21
Nail varnish removers x 7
mouthwash x 3
various nail buffer sets
toothpaste x 9
toothbrushes x 10
perfume sets x 6
various gift sets approx 11
I didn't realise it was so bad and I still have another wardrobe with 2 medium crates one with deodrants and the other with shampoo conditioners, my stash under the bath, my bottom drawer, make-up and nail varnishes to sort and a crateful of stuff which I had left after my carboot sale last year, I went with about 4/5 crates and came back with 1!
This thread has really made me realise I buy far too much stuff, saying that a lot of what I have was either free from various glitches in boots/tesco or from points, reduced in boots or from when the H&B were in Tesco and I amassed enough points to go on holiday to Cuba.0 -
I have started using up my already open items stash which is bigger than I anticipated. I obviously open items use them a few times then put them in a drawer!
Like others I've decided to alternate between 'nicer' products and ones I'm not so keen on. I'm also going to have a pamper time each week to use products that I might not normally use such as scrubs/ exfoliators and intensive conditioner etc.
