I had a bath this evening, used up a Lush bath bomb thingy - gosh, I don't know why people rave about their bath stuff, it was rubbish! It didn't do anything at all, and the smell wasn't even that nice! I was just sitting in it thinking 'I'd be better off with Tesco bubble bath'!! It was a gift so I have no idea how much it was, anyone know? I ended up putting some almond oil in the bath water just to make it a bit more interesting...
Also, on face wipes, I am with you mineallmine - do people really use them for regular cleansing? I use them for two things - cleansing when very drunk, and festivals/camping when I can't get to a tap. Even then I sometimes go posh and bring cream cleanser and cotton pads!!! They never seem to get my face clean, and I hate the smell of most of them, even the dearer ones. They also bring me out in spots.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Evening everybody. I've spent a couple of hours reading this thread today and felt compelled to post as it seems I have found several kindred spirits, particularly in salesaddict, fizzytrinket, Jewelleryfan and lynseydee. Just a few quick snippets which were rather too close to home......salesaddict wrote: »I am feeling a little depressed. My stash of products seems to be more than everyones added together. I am not boasting, just trying to be honest with myself...... I need serious help..........................Jewelleryfan wrote: »I've gone OTT and just like to look at it and smell it but im too afraid to use it all up for some reasonfizzytrinket wrote: »i can hardly admit this although noone here knows me but i have a ROOM for toiletries. typing this makes me want to cry there is no way i can type out what i've got. i do realise i'm a hoarder.
I also have a problem....... I am too ashamed and embarrassed to list everything I have in my cupboards and would be mortified to actually take it all out and confront it head on. I don't know why I buy stuff, I just can't seem to help myself and I love a bargain.
I have a huge range of nail polish, lots of different toiletries and cosmetics, most of which I rarely use and some of which are years old. Every so often I just like to take various bottles and pots out and sniff them and that just makes me happy. I also love to look at sparkly make up and pretty palettes. However, at the same time the amount of stuff I have accumulated makes me feel anxious. It causes tension between me and OH as he says I have far too much and that I should give some away. Frankly, the idea of parting with any of my stash fills me with absolute horror.
I do try my best to use things up, but I always end up buying more and the stash just seems neverending. For some reason I have a particular problem with hoarding shower gel, conditioner, moisturiser and nail polish and I just luuuurve Sanctuary stuff.
So, spurred on by this thread and comforted by the fact that I am not alone, as of today I have resolved that I really will do my very best to start using things up and will not buy any more toiletries or cosmetics until I have finally run out.
I guess that's me sorted until 2012 then...... :rotfl: Sorry for rambling on. :embarasseTime may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician....0 -
Fab fab fab!!!!
I once liberated a substantial amount of Aveda stuff from a very posh hotel.
Haha the only thing better than toiletries is free toiletries
OH got upgraded to first class when he flew out this week... been looking forward to some extra special goodies but just looked on the BA website and it says they're from DR Harris which is mens shaving stuff.... gutted he usually brings me some Elemis back from his flight... booooooo
Haha poor OH he has to go away aall the time with me nattering in his ear to bring me back all the freebies! x0 -

They make my face feel far too tight! I must admit I usually leave a pack next to my bed when I know I'll be having a drink!
I don't use foaming cleanser because my skin is dry- started using eve lom and although it can be a bit drawn out if your in a rush you can make it quite a quick process without resorting to wipes x0 -
Happy_shopper wrote: »Ooo, I might be able to help you. I've dug out something I bought a few years ago which looks suspiciously similar - it's a tub of Boots No. 7 High Lights Illuminating Powder. When I've studied it, I've discovered that the shade of the powder is 'Dandy Pink' (spotting any parallels yet?
) and the blurb on the back is almost identical to the blurb for Dandelion. Dandelion: 'This classic ballerina pink finishing powder takes your complexion from dull to radiant in an instant...a celeb fave!' Boots version: 'Dust lightly over your skin to take your complexion from dull to radiant in an instant.' I haven't used mine for years but I like it better now that I suspect it's a Benefit rip-off.
but gave it to a friend as part of her birthday present. Kicking myself now as I was also looking for it on the Boots website last night.....great minds and all that!
Happy_shopper wrote: »Gah! Sorry, flying_fresian, I just posted my reply and then saw your post. Ah well, never mind - I'll leave it up in case it's useful to anyone else. Glad you got your product and managed to get it in a bargainacious way.
Thanks!I bought Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel from an Ebay shop saving £6 and there were no probs. If you checked out your seller you should be OK.
I feel better as I got back tonight and had an email from them saying thanks and they would post it tomorrow. The picture looked like it was taken in someone's house, which also makes me feel it's probably someone like us with too many cosmetics clearing out! I don't buy any branded products from Ebay that use generic photos, it's too easy to be ripped off.
*crosses fingers for genuine bargain*
I'll keep you updated!0 -
OMG Tara I just saw your sig- are you really going to save £40k in a year!! How many bloody products do you buy

Evening all, well ive actually finished some perfume and shampoo as well as the earlier mentioned foot cream and body butter ( mainly minis, so not as good as it sounds). So ive started on a gift set bought in the boots xmas sale 08 "Secret Obsession" by Calvin klein inc body lotion and perfume and must say its lovely. Still feeling very stressed about my makeup stash as apart from lippy/ mascara/ powder / concealer i only use blush, eyeshadow etc when ive got time (not often with 3 kids under 7) or when i go out in the evening (again not often for same reason as before) and its making me really stressed, so i think im going to ebay the sealed stuff.
Hope your all ok and i really appreciate all your posts cause its spuring me on not to spend as well as making me use my stash which i actually really like but for some unknown reason feel weird about using doh??
Thanks
Nab
xxYou laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

Maybe if we put all our body moisturisers in one big pot we'd feel less bad about using them... I swear it's all the pretty boxes and fancy packaging! x0
