Before anyone suggests saving it for Mother's Day............maybe we should think about buying mothers something other than toiletries this year!!

I couldn't use that excuse anyway, my present stash is massive!!! :rotfl:
I really need to do this, I was shocked by how much stuff I have when I tried to cram this year's christmas presents into my drawers.......

I reckon i can manage only buying shampoo, conditioner, deoderant and mascara.

I have loads of make-up too, masses of nail varnish especially....... must start to wear it all more, and stop saving things for best!

Yes, I save things for best too (turning into my mum lol) but am sooo going to stop doing that! I want to enjoy it all now! :D

Don't know if this is any good to anyone else...
This xmas I made homemade crackers, and in them I put a miniature bottle of nice hand cream, body lotion, etc. Used body shop or Sanctuary miniatures so the girlies around our xmas table loved them...
Helped to use some smellies up too
That is a brilliant idea ! Would work for nail varnish too!

i had my boots mailing today as well. Must resist!!!

for those struggling with huge bottles and cluttered bathrooms, what i started doing when i began my challenge was hiding all bar the bottle i was using somewhere where it was accessible but only with a bit of faff (so discouraging me from getting to it more often than was necessary). I would then fill a travel size bottle fom the bottle i wished to uses and put that in my washbag, putting the remainder of the bottle away in the bathroom. This helped to stop me swapping and changing between products out of boredom or other excuses. Every time i finished the travel sized bottle i would top it up from the big bottle until i finished it all. Only then would i allow myself to start something new from the stash. Obviously this would only really work if you don't have family products, in which case you kinda need the communal bottle of shower gel etc.
Small works well and doesnt make you feel like you have got LOADS to go until you open a new bottle. I'll be decanting tonight I think.

I'm vowing not to buy smellies for ANYONE this year.

Anyone having more baths because of this thread? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hi, my name is Lynsey and I am a toiletriesaholic.

Below is my list of items I have decided I WILL USE UP before attempting to buy anything else unless needed.

Admittedly, my time as an Avon Rep didn't help matters but I am pleased to report that the numbers are going down. I worked out that if I used up a shower gel a month (and that is really using it) it would take me about 7 years to use it all up

Was just thinking i'm doing so well as long as i don't watch qvc or go into town on my lunch breaks or after work, but then i remembered i need to go into the body shop to pick up my discount card from them! If only i had found this thread before i applied for the discount card! Oh well i'm going to try to only use it for their scented oils.

I went into Boots twice today and didn't buy anything, I also resisted Superdrug and the Debenhams Beauty counters... I am proud of myself for resisting the allure of the half price sale goodies in Boots (and there is a lot of stuff left in my local branch). I also had to laugh when I got home and found a load of perfume stashed away (that I had forgotten)...
I'm buying No More Toiletries, I'm Deluttering and I'm Losing Weight for 2010!

Oh good, this makes me feel better :o.

Not sure if I'm up to this challenge as the 'what if there's a nuclear war, this stash of shampoo will come in handy' thinking always gets in the way. That, and 'what if I get down to my last bottle of shampoo and there's none on special offer ' fear (it actually happened with soap powder once and I still turn cold thinking of it ). But good luck to all of you and I will watch your progress with interest :T

I went into Boots today and bought my lunch and hair mousse! Lingered around the S&G aisle but was strong. I hadn't realised how much I buy just because it looks pretty or is on 2 for 1.

Anyway, I've decided they must've discontinued my favourite L'Oreal Studio Line Hot Volume as today was my third trip to a different Boots and still no sign of it. Sigh. So I ended up with Tresemme (why?! Didn't I say I hated that brand?!!) 24 hour body. Anyone tried it?
