But it's 'vintage' eye cream - you'd pay good money for wine like that! ;)

LOL was just about to post the same.

It's a particularly dangerous bit of subversive literature; sickly pretty pink images with cynical marketing slogans such as "treats, treats and more treats" and "spoil yourself again and again". :p

Keep your heads and handle with care ladies! They want our money! ;)

Hee hee, Bronnie! You've got it sussed! This is the kind of thing I write all day long. I'm so immune to it now, I can spot marketing spiel a mile away!

I can't remember who suggested this but this morning I moved the S&G stuff out of the shower and put "normal" shower cream and facewash in to use up first. I am only going to use S&G at the weekend, thus making it last for longer.

Might have been me, but I have put all my S&G stuff on display around the bathroom and have my to-be-used-up stuff in my hatbox to be taken out and used each time I have a bath or shower! It makes my bathroom look nice in the meantime! I might do what you're doing and use S&G at the weekend as a treat.

    Today's progress:
Finished a large bottle of Herbal Essences shampoo. :D
Opened a Lush pumpkin soap which would prob have gone off if I hadn't done my stocktake (I've had it for months!). I will use it every day till it's finished. I never ever use soap as it is so drying but this was a pressie and it is very nice.
Put a few unopened toiletries that I don't really want into my present cupboard (which is now bulging!!!).
Took the clear plastic tray out of my Sanctuary OOTW gift box and have now stored all my unused Sanctuary stuff in it so it is very pretty.
Mum gave me gorgeous storage boxes for Christmas so I have put most of my unopened stash in them and they are looking lovely! It makes the house tidier too!!!
My Boots mailing has gone in the bin!!

Should someone call the stock exchange and tell them that Boots, Lush, the Body Shop and QVC are going to do very badly this year? :rotfl:

    Honestly??!!

    If so I think that's :T

Have been eyeing it up and contemplating binning all except the double points coupon thinking I'd use it for toothpaste or something, but then I could get toothpaste cheaply elsewhere and for the sake of a few pennies in points, it's not worth the 'risk' of going in there is it?

I'm with you, it's going in the bin!!

Before anyone suggests saving it for Mother's Day............maybe we should think about buying mothers something other than toiletries this year!!

I swear. It was hard but I did it!!! Ripped it up and everything so I wouldn't be tempted to dig it out again! :rotfl:

:rotfl:It was given to me by a woman who I could well believe would give something a bit past its best rather than throw it out. I never opened the box before last night, and when I did there was 'LCT 1996' stamped on the bottom. I have no idea if that is a best before date or something, but it it is that means that the eye cream is FOURTEEN YEARS out of date! No wonder I didn't dare use it!
I've got a Bourjois eyeshadow that I know is 16 years old. I bought it as my first expensive purchase aged 10 in 1994. I can clearly remember it.

Time for a clear out of the make up? I cleared out about 5 times last year, but the eyeshadow remains!

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

    Ripped it up? Good idea!

    Done!
  • I'm very impressed with those of you , who've managed to throw away your Boots mailing . I was saved from myself this morning , i had some time to kill before Baby Gym so decided to have a meander around Boots, (in my defence I needed some vitamin tablets) however the doors were firmly shut as they were doing some training .

I really need to use up the things that are on the go - my trouble is I'm a complete tart when it comes to things like shower gels /scrubs etc and get bored of the same scent so end up with a million (ok slight exaggeration) bottles on the side of the bath - this week's focus ...use what's already open and not to start anything else.
  • I love how we all treat Boots as some mighty dangerous force to be reckoned with. I "popped in" there earlier and somehow managed to escape without buying the Sanctuary perfume set. Half-price! I would really love it but I might as well use up my rather more expensive stuff first.

Product update: binned old mascara (Maybelline Define-A-Lash - open 6 months, competition win, OK but a bit smudgy) and started a fresh mascara (Clinique - poshest mascara I've ever owned, freebie, fab curved brush). Decided to give to family: l'Oreal Wrinkle De-crease serum (competition win, too heavy for my skin), Rimmel lipstick (pink with gold glitter, makes me look like I've been eating a sweet coated in fantastical sugar). Onwards and upwards! :D
