Everyones troubles are their own, don't feel pathetic, it takes a lot of courage to fess up that you have a problem, and then even more courage to take steps to overcome the problem. You are doing greatBut I need to buy hand cream and body butter as I'm on the last tube of S&G Hand Cream & Righteous Butter. Can you luvelies give me some idea about Body Shop Vit E & Hemp body butter? Anybody use this before and is it any good?:)
Vitamin e hand cream is fab for an every day hand cream, it's my fave in fact. The hemp one is also very good, I tend to use that once a day unless my hands are really dry then I use it like a normal hand cream unitl they are feeling better. Both are way better than the S&G hand food IMO, I've still got a few of the S&G ones to use up (and about 1/3 tube of hemp body shop hand cream) before I can buy any moreI also agree with you on the toiletry offers, they seem to be getting more and more desperate. I did have a moment of weakness earlier, added 3 hemp body butters to a virtual basket on the BS website (3for2 and 15% off, OMG) but then thought better of it and closed the page!!! Two months ago I would have bought them without hesitation. This is progress! £12.50 is now going into the savings pot. :j
Yay! :j I too have been tempted by the Body Shop offer, but I think it's finished now, phew! :TWell, I went into Boots AND Lush this afternoon and came out empty handed :T I might have been tempted though, if Lush had had the new bath melt or the bublegum lip scrub, but they only had the other two, which taste of chocolate, and I hate choc flavour lip stuff (except S&G sexymother gloss, but that's more Terrys choc orange).
All I've bought i the last couple of days is some cotton wool pads which I'd ran out of. :T
Woo hoo, awesome progress we're all making :j:TDoes anyone know if the body shop ever had a brazil nut body butter for very dry skin? Or am i imagining it?
I got some for xmas in a body shop hamper so I think they still do it, and it was recently in the sale.I've never used serum. Am I missing something?
I'm using some 5ml no7 P&P and it feels nice but I'm not noticing a difference, won't be buying it for £18.50 when I've finished these 5ml tubes!flying_fresian wrote: »Good morning ladies!
I used up an iFoam S&G shower gel this morning (SOB!) but have another three to keep me going
I've got a couple of these from the hatboxes but haven't used them yet. I'm in love with the smell of S&G clean girls, so I've alsmot dismissed the ifoam:oI am soooo tempted by the hemp body butter offer... someone give me a good talking to!
Hopefully you held out until it passed, i think it finihsed at 9.30am this morning. Which product were you looking at and haven't you got something in your stash that could be used instead? :APaint Your Nails Monday :T I'm wearing a very old plumish colour today.
I painted mine last night with No7 speed dry Blackberry, I put on a clear basecoat and 2 coats of nailvarnish and they are chipped already  I painted my toes with the no7 dark blue one from their stay perfect range, lovley deep blue colour. I counted and I've got 33 nail varnishes plus a french man. set, and poss more kicking around the house! I'm shocked!
I'm not setting myself a max spend budget for feb, I'm just going to keep plodding on using up my stash and planning to spend nothing unless I run out of something (which doesn't look likely for a while yet!)
S&G still save 1/3 :mad::mad: I'm still holding out and not buying anything, the offer will pass, I'm not missing out and have lots of S&G in my stash and a brand new hatbox to add to stash (bought by darling OH as pressie just after xmas) The offer will come round again and again and again!*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
I do that, I live alone and only work part-time. I live near a big shopping centre so I'll go out for a coffee and a walk round the shops. I've never really spent all that much but fashion and looking good has always been my thing. The things I buy are usually reduced by 70%, I don't drink or go to pubs, I go to shops and coffee shops. My money problem is lack of income rather than overspending. I'll do a diary thread soon and explain there.
Back to the toiletries. I was officially starting the "no toiletries challenge" today 1 Feb but it's been about a week since I've bought anything. I have no interest in this months Boots skinnie voucher so that'll help.
Hi Mags,
let me know when you start your thread. I am unable to buy anything unless it is in a sale. It has to be at least 50pct off but as you say better 70 pct off. I am addicted especially to m+s sale (autograph and limited collection). Shopping is my leisure activity. I don't smoke or drink (think it would be cheaper if I did).:)
As my dh has often said to me, please don't tell me what you have saved just look at what you have spentI have always earned good money, but up until now I have had such a bad attitude. The idea of budgeting was totally foreign to me.

And reading everyone's posts about how hard it is to pass up a juicy Grabbit (but doing it anyway) encourages me. We are all toiletry and bargain addicts here and I know everyone understands how everyone else feels.
Salesaddict: there have been some brilliant posts about your predicament over the last few pages from a number of ladies. I can only echo what they say; it takes so much courage to admit that you have a problem, but the fact that you are willing to face up to things and change is the first step. After so many years of buying freely it will be horrendously difficult to alter your behaviour, but you can do it.
You're bound to slip up a few times, but we're all behind you. Each time you are tempted, just try to remember: is it really worth risking your future financial stability for the latest beauty must haves or a bargain that you don't actually need?
I hope this doesn't sound like a lecture, I just wanted to add my support.Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician....0 -

So long as you're able to avoid everything else in Boots, that is!

Thanks:T
Just printed one off and will head to Boots this pm to get my cotton pads.
Hope it works OK in my branch otherwise I will be steeling myself to face the embarassment of putting them back on the shelves:o:o:o as I don't need them yet and don't want to use my budget for them, but will add them to stock if they come through the till as free!
Let you know later!!0 -
I hope you've all been resisting toiletries as well as you have been chatting here!
DH and I have been working through stuff and were able to throw away a couple of finished things this weekend (another conditioner, some eyecream samples, some moisturiser samples..) . I did buy another spot cream: my skin has been so great then had a massive break out last week...and I'm please to report I think I've found something that works for me at last. (Aveda) and made that purchase while resisting discontinued lipgloss and other makeup ....30% off. It felt weird not to buy pretty colours in such a good sale but I managed it!0 -
My e.l.f. stuff turned up this morning, I'm at work so haven't been able to try much - but the cuticle pen is fab!
My total spend for January was £14.98 on make up in Boots and £25 on make up and tools from e.l.f.
I made £19.50 selling stuff I didn't need through work and put it on my Boots card so that was neutral.
I need to get some new facial moisturisers and face wipes but I have things to return to Boots so hopefully they'll even out otherwise this month I don't think I'm going to run out of anything and after buying all my new make up I'm going to aim for a £0.00 spend for Feb .
I did use up a mini flake away and a big calm one calm all yesterday - WIBA both are yesses, I love flake away and only have 2 more minis left now  ( realising what I posted above these must last until March now.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Found a smallish shower gel and bath soak this morning while clearing up my bedroom. Preparing myself for some ancient finds.:rotfl::eek::rotfl:I went away and now I'm back.:j:j0 -
Hi all, kids are settled having a quicky tea tonight as Dh and i are gonna have a nice steak dinner later so thought i would catch up.
Well added a few more £s to my tin the last few days. I finished a charles worthington conditioner that was reduced so free with a haircare voucher ages ago. Wiba not at the rrp, it was good but not much better than others i have bought cheaper. My favourite conditioner so far from my stash has been Toni & Guy Model me Erin illuminating conditioner, which made my hair really glossy and smooth withought making it greasy and smelt lovely too.

Ps its actually taken me 15mins to write this post , KIDS SETTLED pft lolYou laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

If you werent so skint- Id suggest using the money to join a gym. Its a lovely pamper treat to excercise, plus theres swimming, jacuzzi, sauna -even sunbewds in mine ( i dont use them, but i know others do)lynzpower wrote:CALLING JANUARYS TOILETRIES SPEND FOR 2- 19.33 ( rather shocking).
Aiming for February to be 5.00 or less.
Anyone else got a February Goal?
Products used up in January = £208.21
January's toiletries spend = £39.46  Accumulated around £6.00 in boots points.
This included 2 x p&p moisturisers and 1 x p&p intense serum (which, to be fair, I did need). If I were to go into the shop today and buy everything, without vouchers, 342s, and the fab pedi. set 'glitch' etc (which I actually wouldn't do) it would've cost £195; that is totally insane :undecided
Aiming for February to be £0.00
I do not need anything.
Will repost this in the Feb thread, just to keep myself on track0
