Hello ladies,
am I the only one failing at this challenge? I would slink off with my tail between my legs to the two weight loss threads that I have signed upto but I'm not doing at all well there either.
In Aldis today I succumbed to the concealer pen in cashmere £3.59 as I have a fear that my current one will run out soon and I find this one better than touche eclat or any other one I have used. (I do have about 5 half used concealer pens)
Also the ginger shampoo and conditioner 59p each. Used them tonight and they are lovely. I don't seem to be able to use a shampoo and conditioner for more than 3 days before I feel the need to change again. I always use them up, but just can't stick to one for the weeks that that would take.
I got a lovely shade of red nailvarnish (salsa) with my no7 voucher £1.25. I lingered over their new wrinkle filler, tried it on under my eyes, it felt lovely and smooth and dd said sweetly "oh Mummy, it makes you look even more crinkly under the eyes".
Bless her gentle heart.:)
So then when I went into TJHughes I was just in the right frame of mind to spend £2.99 on Roc compete lift for eyelids and bags (sounds so attractive doesn't it)
To complete my confession I could not resist Roc Retinox spf15 at £3.99. I remember this when it was £24.95 in Boots. So as someone else said I just need to stop shopping, but I don't know how.:(0 -
No Salesaddict I failed miserably this week and bought reduced items at Tescos for hubby and I.
In my defence hubby did need face wash, I bought 3 Bnatural cleansers which are similar to Liz Earle's but without the price tag; I do like this range and they were only £1.00 each so a bargain.
I try & steer clear of Boots, toiletry aisles and the grabbit boards on here, the first 2 have been quite easy as I have been out of action with a broken ankle for quite a few weeks and have not been shopping. My first day out shopping and I caved in, the allure of the clearance aisle in Tescos was too much.0 -

Oh salesaddict, what are we going to do with you?? Have a big hug. Now, ask yourself - do I already have things like these in my stash? If so, then either eBay them or resolve not to buy any more of them! It's the only way.
Interesting that you mention the weight loss threads. I am starting to see this challenge as a catalyst for all sorts of positive changes in my life e.g. beforehand, I see that I was out of control. I could not resist a Grabbit or a bargain, yet the accumulation of products was not making me happy. Now I have totally changed my outlook! I carefully consider all purchases and have said no to 90% of the temptations that have come my way in the last month. I am now happier and really enjoying my products - in fact I'm sitting here right now covered in Righteous Butter and Avon bust firming cream and feeling gorgeous. I am in control. The bargains are not controlling me.
So anyway (I'm sure you are wondering what this has to do with weight loss!). The same principles can be applied to weight loss! Now that I feel in control in one area, it is making me feel more in control in other areas - for example, I am spending less and I am tidying more and my life seems to be getting more organised. And this is strengthening my resolve to regain control over my body. I am starting to carefully question what I am eating, I am pushing myself out the door to go for a walk, I am doing squats every day. I know it's a strange analogy but there you go!
Sorry for the long rambly post but hope it helps.

I have bought some Lacura serum from Aldi to replace the P&P, whilst I was there
QUOTE]
Can you let us know how you get on with this when you've been using it for a bit, please?
I have given P&P serum a good go, but don't really notice much difference; certainly not enough to justify the cost of it. Think it's a really expensive and not very long-lasting product, although I think the creams are superb. With the serum, I can't help but get the feeling I'm being suckered for an "Emperor's New Clothes" type product when I buy it!!
Yet, something inside of me makes me feel I 'ought' to be using one.Silly eh? How much is the Aldi one please?

Oh yes! My feelings exactly. It's soo economical. The soap I've got in the shower has barely used up at all. I'm sure I'd have gone through 2 bottles of shower gel by now. Surprisingly, I like using it with the shower puff. The lather is lovely and rich and well..soapy and VERY MS!
When the stash has gone, I've decided I'm not going to buy everyday shower gel any more. . I'll get nice shower gel as pressies and will use a couple of times a week and am looking forward to buying myself a tablet of quality, carefully-chosen, gorgeous-smelling soap to use the rest of the time instead.0 -
I second that! Keep us informed, Caramac. :T I wish there was an Aldi here, I would like to try Lacura and also the Siana moisturiser.

salesaddict do you feel better when you buy stuff for yourself? The only way to stop as mentioned before is to 1) Ask yourself if you honestly need it . 2) think you already know the answer . 3) All the money you'll save buy not buying more stuff you don 't need.
I must have saved about £120 by not buying anything from Lush, Green People and M&S. I know it's hard. I do get tempted but know if I buy anything else I'd feel I left myself and the other women on this thread down. Making a commitment/pledge not to by any toiletries until my stash has gone down really spurs me on.
salesaddict, you can do it. Agree with tara. Once you start feeling more in control of your life/better about yourself, I'm sure you'll find it easier to lose weight. Might have to join you if I keep eating 3 bags of reduced fat crisps a day.:rotfl::rotfl:(Note to self 3 bags of reduced fat crisp do not equal 1 bag of regular crisps)I went away and now I'm back.:j:j0 -

You are so right about the commitment thing, it definitely does affect my thinking. And reading everyone's posts about how hard it is to pass up a juicy Grabbit (but doing it anyway) encourages me. We are all toiletry and bargain addicts here and I know everyone understands how everyone else feels. Maybe we should have a pledge!! katieclampet, would you like to compose one?Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I've finished loads over the past few days...
Blanx toothpaste £6.99
WIBA? No, not 'fresh' enough tasting. Didn't see enough whitening either to justify the expense.
Nivea cell renewal body night cream. £.95 - yes!! 95p per tub :j
WIBA? Yes! This is an amazingly thick cream which makes my skin feel fabulous. Good job really, as I have another 4/5 tubs to use up - though I did actually try that cream before bulk buying
Found a travel sized Dermalogica multivitamin power recovery mask. £3/4 approx?
WIBA? Yes, as before this is one of my favourite products.
L'oreal sublime bronze £9.99 (expensive for the amount of applications)
WIBA? It's my favourite product for tanning my face, but it's damned expensive so only buy it on offer (and then with codes/cashback :rotfl:)
There's been a lot more than that? Can't remember everything now thoughI second that! Keep us informed, Caramac. :T I wish there was an Aldi here, I would like to try Lacura and also the Siana moisturiser.

My skin feels 100% better and the little red lumps (thanks dad!) on my arms look much better! :T
Was having a little chat with my sister last night and for our birthdays (which are within 3 days of each other) we're not buying pressies, we're gonna take each other off to a spa. I was almost speechless when she suggested it, I never thought she'd go for itThis means we both get a little day/possibly night away being pampered silly and no more stuff we don't need
