No buying new toiletries etc until.....

I've not bought any Boots stuff today either. Two or three years ago, I'd have been one of the ones waiting online at 4am but to be honest, I'm not that bothered this year. The only things I was really interested in were the Starbucks and S & G sets - I didn't see the former and missed out on the latter. I bought a pizza stone (as a prezzie) but I bought it at 50% off to make sure I got it. I've been keeping an eye on the sale at my local stores and I'll browse around next time I'm in town but I'm not going to go out of my way for it.0

I figured i should get some sample stuff and work out what i like first rather than waste more money.
fixx, do you know about the Freebies Board? It's one of my fave MSE boards; I've had loads of toiletry samples from there. You have to check regularly - sometimes there's nothing - and sometimes the offers expire quickly but it's a great way of trying new stuff without spending any money. For example, if you want any more of those Olay Eye Pods, this thread will tell you how to get a couple:

p.s. did ANYONE here not go to Boots? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I didnt :A :A :A :A :A
I did look on the website tohugh and it was all carp.
NOT NEEDED
Ive probably saved myself 30.00 by not going so might put it towards a massage or some other nice beauty treatment :A
well done to all those who managed to stay away :A :T
And well done to those who accept they have a major problem and are moving on- tomorrow is a new day.:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I went and spent about £40 but gots loads of pressies. I got quite a few Emma Bridgewater notebooks as pressies, plus lots in anticipation of my DDs mates' birthdays.
I honestly didn't buy any toileteries for our household from there, but I did buy OH some shaving foam from Poundland. I'm using up conditioner for shaving with but feel a bit mean making him do that to his face.0 -

Me neither. I had a quick look online, just to remind myself there wasn't anything I actually wanted, not even for presents. If I'd really wanted something and wanted to make sure I got it, I would have bought in the 50% sale.
It was like locusts had visited our local store last year - shelves were totally bare by lunchtime!
They're definitely dedicated in that Boot grabbit sale thread! :eek:0 -
I went but just bought gifts and paid for it all with my points.0

I went but only to a small local branch but there was nothing there that took my fancy. I used to buy things for presents for DD to give her friends but she started complaining about what I'd got so I stopped.0

I didn't go either :T I went yesterday... what was I thinking
I'm into saving a penny or two but I can't stand sales of any kind. I always get pushed round and whacked by trolley raged nutters, it frightens the life out of me so I steer well clear :rotfl:Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -
