Hello everyone
I was waiting to post until after going to the Boots sale this morning, but it's postponed til next week! So I thought I'd better say hello now.
I have loads of stuff, extras of pretty much everything both body care and makeup. I haven't done a list, and am not sure I have time!
I've been good at trying to use one product at a time recently, but it's slow going. On the other hand, it's a really good feeling when I completely finish something!
My dilemma is not made easier by the fact that I have now decided that the conditioner-only method for cleansing hair seems to suit me (I have probably 20 shampoos that will now take forever to get through!) and so does the oil cleansing method. I've just ordered some oils (jojoba, sweet almond and rose hip for my face and grapeseed for massages), so I guess I've "lapsed" already, but I didn't have those oils already!
Oops, a really long post! But the short version is: Hello!0 -

It does make sense to buy when on offer
Just maybe not as much as I had been buying before :rotfl::o
I have a simple cream at the moment, just a daycream and it's not even the anti-aging one (not that my skin should really need that at the moment :undecided) so it's really quite light. Also have a dermalogica one upstairs, but again it seems a bit light at the moment - skin is really quite dry/dehydrated.
And I do have something (also a pedicure set - to get the free bag) that I could take back... oh Bronnie, you've twisted my arm
:D
You know what I mean
It is though, was never terribly greasy as a teenager, and certainly combination but even my forehead is dry at times now. I'm guessing (hoping!) that it's dehydration due to central heating and -14 conditions outside (!) and not enough water (having a glass here as I type :T). Failing that, I'm gonna slather it in cream and hope for the best :A
Also, inspired by michael pollan, I'm looking at my diet (eleven o'clock fruit, anyone?). Really like his simple, but really rather obvious, 'eat food. not too much. mostly plants'. But that's another thread!
Vitamin E oil on warm damp skin is the very best moisturiser I ever found I'm afraid:D Doesn't smell that wonderful - but does help the skin, although tbf, mine was always more oily than dry so haven't had that problem but suffered greatly with spots for a long time, and got rid of those just in time to get wrinkles:rolleyes::D
When I get the odd spot now it just makes me feel young:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:"there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -

Topsy was a little girl in the book Uncle Tom's Cabin - who didn't know who her mother was and said something like "I s'pect I just growed".
The phrase became general for just things growing like wildfire:o"there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -

Really fun at our local boots. I arrived at gone nine on the off chance of the sale starting today. A huge crowd of ladies with huge pull along shopping trolleys, they seemed confused. No signs were displayed other than the 50% off. I said it is obviously not today. A lady starting filling baskets in the hope of a mistake. I said I would check with the till operator. No definately only 50%. I thought oh well and left about half an hour later I walked past the store again and the same group of ladies were waiting outside the doors of the store. Apparently they had caused such trouble in the store complaining that someone who worked there had told them it was to start today. That they were all asked to leave the premises!!! Can you get barred from Boots? Seems like a bit of a worthless argument to me.
Although it doesnt surprise me last year the police were called because of the behavior of some customers. They had to barricade staff and stock for protection!!!
Oh dear! Poor them! Did nobody tell them about this thread?!!0 -
Hi LyndeseyLee - 79 shower gels, how do you get 79 shower gels....
Anyway, I must admit I'm really chuffed I joined this challenge...
I know I can be quite lazy....But this last week or so I've been moistursing every day, using foot cream every day (which normally only ever gets done when I remember, once a week!) and using hand cream every time I open a cupboard!! But my skin is feeling nicer, and my feet feel so much softer...
Couldn't do it without you lot.... :T
Got a parcel from boots today which I ordered a while ago, it was stuck in a warehouse coz of the snow app, and they're my S&G gifts. I admit to opening one to use... Sorry
But I've used up a body spray, so that kinda got replaced, the rest was just too tempting.... Oops:hello:No more toiletries challenge :T

Actually , I think you're doing really well! Keep going!
Tonight I have finished off a half-used sample size tube of Boots body polish (on my hands). Ecstatic to report that I have also finally used up the last of the giant Timotei shampoo. Hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, there was enough left for tomorrow, but I bit the bullet and used it instead of shower gel and for washing my tights, before ceremoniously lobbing the empty into the bin! Tomorrow night, I'll be using something lovely instead as a reward for my perserverance!
Need to put a few bits on ebay , I MUST get round to it tomorrow, thinking about it all week!
Have been pondering why my "challenge" has lasted so long when I don't buy that much. The Timotei chat made me realise that I'm also using up DD's cast-offs as well!! I did show her this thread at the beginning and she does peep when I'm posting, but she hasn't succumbed yet. She's actually not too extravagent, but she does have the half-using habit pretty badly!
Help, girls! We have a large full bottle of Garnier self tan (likely to be 1-2 years old.) Dd has never used it because of the horrid biscuity smell. P&P on ebay is probably going to make it not worth listing.....it was only a couple of quid anyway.....so do I have clearance from you guys to bin it??
Even my ingenuity with reusing stuff, can't find an alternative use for this one !!0 -
fyi e-bayers just had an e-mail to say its free listings Sunday (17th)
glad to see everyones getting thro their stash and resisting temptation.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
I love this thread. Ive used up 3 body washes that im not keen on in the past week by using them as bubble bath. They were only the tubes you get in the million and one gift sets i seem to have amassed. Im having nightmares about soap ive got so many bars im sure they'll out last me
Also used up an half empty bottle of pantene conditioner shaving my legs with it am i glad to see the back of that lol.
Using a cheap body lotion and probably will be doing so for another few weeks as there seems to be gallons of it. Skin feels better for it though.
Im thinking that on the whole im a bot daft though i buy all these products and save most for best instead of using them. Best probaby happens a few times a year. Why do i not like to spoil myself more often with these products that i already own.
Well now everyday is like spa day, high maintence me?? No chance just using stuff up and being moneysaving lmaoSometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait
