Just been catching up on the thread and I am a lurker who is hoping to eventually make something herself. But I felt I had to post as I really feel for those of you whose families don’t appreciate the wonderful thinks you make. I can also sympathise.
I have been in childcare for 28 years 20 as a nanny and the past 7 years running my own childminding business. As far as my mum is concerned she is still hoping I will get a proper job (she wanted me to be a nurse – was never going to happen as I hate blood) and my in laws constantly refer to my babysitting and ma in law thinks I am a bad wife as I don’t have hubbies tea on the table when he comes in from work lol.
I make cards and my mum will often buy them for people but anyone important eg my brother, aunts, uncles, etc she buys them as they are not home made.
All of the following could have been written by me lol
Crafty JuJu - hope I'm making sense....she’s the only person to make me feel mad to the extent I sometimes do think why do I both & reach for the chocolate or the wine (& I don't really drink!)
JoF - I have waited 46 years to hear a 'well done' or 'I am proud of you', it's not happened yet and I don't think its' ever going to happen. Still a girl can dream *sigh
Kelly-Lou - Off for a beer, this will be the last in a while as I am starting a diet tomorrow so to u all ( I’ll join you but a Baileys and Birthday cake as I am off back to SW next week)
I hope you all achieve your aims of turning your ‘hobby’ into a business as you are all professional in what you produce and deserve to get where you want to be (hope that comes across in the right way).
I think all of the makes that you post on here are absolutely fantastic and I am soon to be the proud owner of one of Crafty JuJu's lovely bracelets and I can't wait to get it. Kate :hello:0 -
Oh I love it! (no pun intended hehe) Ive never done a challenge before!
I cant wait to see everyones makes. Im so busy over the next week but this definately deserves a little schedule clearing!
As Ive never done a challenge before I just wondered what happens.... do we choose a 'winner'? Or is it simply to compare makes?0 -
nannyboo1 - Glad you like it (from the pics on my fan page)

VikkiJD - I was wondering that too....what about everyones name goes in a hat kind of thing & one gets pulled out?x

I am so looking forward to this challenge!
Been pressured into inviting my mum and sister over to use my stock making themselves some jewellery, I wouldnt have minded if they had asked its just the way they ganged up and called me selfish for not offering (ive only been doing this less than a month!)
I dont know why i give in but i suppose i just want to keep the peace.
The funny thing is while my mum and sister are doing that my dad is so supportive even looking at buying me a box studio to take professional photos of my jewellery!
Anyway ITS FRIDAY! And i have a lot of making to do for my first jewellery party on Tuesday :eek:They told me I was a valued customer, now they send me hate mail! - Rebecca Bloomwood :happylove

Well instead of sorting stuff out for the fair that I have tomorrow, I spent yesterday coming up with a new line in jewellery and gifts, which I uploaded to my facebook page (and added them to the shop, just need to get some proper pics for the website), and I notice that someone from here and wandered over there and liked them
Put them on FB last night, and had sold one within an hour, and he's heading to foreign shores as well!0 -
Jo_F - Just been onto Facebook and liked the page so will have a nosey now :-)

I have a folksy, Fb shop and Duwanda shop and have sold only a few items. Ive managed to sell loads on ebay. My teapots are doing well but my cupcake charm bracelets have sold the best, one is on its way to the states as we speak. its a nice feeling knowing someone in a different country is wearing something you made. ive made some donut charms and other loose cupcake charms and pendants, so the people who have bought the bracelets are buying other charms from me too.
Im now waiting for new bracelets to arrive.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
