I hope I am in time to join! Please add me if it's possible.
I have decided to not diet as such BUT make sure everything I consume is nutritional and home cooked if possible, hopefully the weightloss will happen too.0 -
Looks like it'll be a busy thread this month
So I've totted up all my 2009 calculations and the total amount of weight lost is as follows (bearing in mind I only started the diet in August so this is only over the course of 5 months):
3 stone 10 lbs :j
Started off as size 24 and now size 18
Still lots more weight to lose but I'm very determined so here's hoping for a very positive and slimmer 2010. Good luck everyone!0 -
Anyone can join at any time so welcome aboard stimpy27 and MicheH
You pick your own weigh in day - just let me know every so often your loss (ie loss since the last weigh in during the month!) and I will add it to your total and the overall "Ye flipping Gods how much have we lost between us!" totalDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Please may I join in this challenge Larmy16.
I don't want to diet as such as I just end up breaking them. What I do need to do is overcome my cravings for sweet things especially chocolate.
I saw a hypnotist around November and managed to stay away from chocolate for about 5 weeks, but then I started to get stressed and as I no longer smoke or drink alcohol, I tend to see chocolate as my "treat". Trouble is when I do eat it, I feel guilty and out of control as I cannot eat just a sensible amount. It's more like binging.
For example I bought some presents of chocolate for some children but as I have not seen them, I have ended up breaking into it myself so will have to buy them presents all over again. I feel guilty and ashamed about this. I seem to get the shakes and feel I must have something sweet.
I really want to tackle this for 2010. It is getting me down and I can feel I have gained weight around my middle since just before Christmas.
So this is my confession. As from tomorrow I want to join this thread and report my ongoing situation regarding my sweet addiction.
Thanks for reading if you have managed this far!!!:oGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Good to see you Larmy16 - a lot of people follow a healthy eating plan rather than a diet as per say - so jump in and enjoy!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Larmy16 - I could have written that very same post, you sound so much like me. I haven't managed to come up with any real answers to my binge problem, but what I have had some success with is when I am craving chocolate, etc I tell myself "I don't want it", rather than "I can't have it". Good luck to us both for this month
Well, tomorrow is truth day for me, when I finally find out what my current weight is, and it's not going to be a pretty picture - I reckon I've put on at least 7lbs in the past month  Good news though is that I've thrown away the remainder of the christmas cheeses, cream and chocolates that nobody likes (apart from from me!), eaten the last mince pie tonight so now I'm set to get back on track tomorrow. If I'm honest, I have been comfort eating over the past few weeks because just before Christmas we had the bad news that dh is going to be made redundant at the end of January
Best wishes to all, and a happy new year
Nicky

well it shouldnt be so much of a struggle now you have a steamer coco, i dont eat meat but DS2 loves a steamed gammon steak, spuds and veg, bung its all in 25 mins later dinner's done, works great with fish too.
Ive had a great start to the new year i havent picked all day, took the dog on a long walk and had a snowball fight with the kids, its snowing proper in Cornwall which doesnt happen very often so we had to make the most of it. i will start running again when the kids go back to school ( if i repeat that enough i might happen) but will start spring cleaning the house tomorrow hopeful that will keep my fingers out of any sweet stuff.
Hope everyone had a good start to the New Year and long may it continue0
