  • OK so I'm motivated. OK so I'm really good with my meals. BUT what do I eat at 4 o'clock in the afternoon which is always my bad time??? I've had an apple, only a banana looms which doesn't excite me!! Any suggestions for low cal snacks that could see me through til 6.30 would be FABULOUS!
    Thanks Elizabeth:confused:

I'm terrible for snacking too, my downfall has been crisps and cans of coke.

    How about a smoothie?
  • Been to see a nutritionist so have picked up some tips.

How about a few brazil nuts/walnuts? just 3 or 4 - healthy fats and protein.
Natural yogurt and some seeds? quite refreshing and got that crunchy texture which is satisfying.
Oatcake and small amount of nut butter? very filling. (Almond butter is better than Peanut butter)
(Of course you probably need to go shopping for these)
(I have just had some chocolates myself :rotfl:but I am sick and I needed to finish them off)

I've been so good today! took dog out for walk and have stuck to good foods and have been drinking white tea rather than normal tea!

Pampered myself with a long bubble bath and facemask too!

    Good luck everyone

Hi samace83 (and your OH as well :D) welcome to the clan

Snacking - someone once recommended blending some low fat cottage cheese with a small amount of a strong cheese (say blue Stilton or Danish blue) and use it as a dip with some crudite veggies
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

  • I should have remembered (from the amount of times that I've tried to lost weight in the past!!) - carrot, pepper, cucumber sticks etc. are all great to use with a salsa dip - very few calories in that and great just before dinner.
  • I sha'n't be posting my weight either, but suffice to say it's less than poshstock's start weight last year, and more than her end weight, and I'll be DELIGHTED if I manage to lose anywhere near as much as she did. Wow. What an inspiration. See you next year!
Its funny, I know how muh Poshstock has lost, but I havne't noticed either start or current weight :o

She is however, an amazing inspiration, I agree. And so positive....I find her presence so helpful to me :o:)

:o How luvly of you to say so! I take your complement with much thanks.

I have decided not to weigh in as i said (thursday) but to wait until monday, If that's ok. This is because I had a new years knee's up with alcohol ( which I hardly ever touch) and had a family get together today and a big lunch (again ) so though it best to wait until all the gorging had finished.
I will post monday without fail my 'new' weight ( which I know isn't going to be good ) and start with a clean slate. I has been nice not to have to worry over what I eat for a week or so, but I can't wait to get back to 'normal' and start eating more healthily. All those choccies and fizzy drinks etc etc....don't do much for my energy levels and digestive system (IYKWIM ;)).

Anyway, Happy new year everyone, see you on monday!

Ps welcome all newbies too. xx

    Hi

Well did my weigh in this morning and I am only one pound more than I was at the beginning of December. I am happy with that as I was in and out of hospital unexpectedly in December and have been eating well during the festive season. So my starting weight is 218.5 pounds for 2010.

I will weigh in in a fortnight and let you know how I am doing but in the meantime will be keeping in touch with the thread.

    Good luck all.
