Hi,
I'm returning to the world of Cross Stitch after a 3 year break following the birth of my DD.
I have been stitching since I was a child, but only got with the program about 10 years ago on counted cross stitch.
I don't have that many unfinished projects. I was working on Lavendar & Lace Celtic Spring just before DD arrived which needs finishing.
However, I've started a new project today it the 12 Days of Christmas from Cross Stitcher 2005 - I bough the materials pack at the time and have had stored since.
Today, I've most been preparing the fabric, hemming it to stop the fraying and plotting the layout of the individual characters.
My DD likes to help pull the needle through so hopefully I can pass the skill on to her.
The last piece I stitched was a thank you card for the midwife that had looked after me throughout my pregnancy.Proud to be dealing with my debts

Welcome to Turtle and Maddogwoman. It's nice in this cafe! BTW what does TTTFW mean ?
Tonight I have finished a first birthday card for the little girl who lives next door and have sorted out the threads for some christmas cards and for another first birthday card, a boy this time.
I went back to the wool shop on Thursday and got another ball of wool so I can now finish off my scarf then get onto these cards. If anyone else is into knitting Lidl are having some great wool and sewing offers on from tomorrow. (today now actually:o)
Rocky point is not finished I'm afraid so will have to change my siggy. 18ct is a bit of a challenge I think. Have had to get my daylight bulb out now that the weather is turning.
And if anyone has xstitch crazy my group is in there this month but the photo was done before i joined so I am not there:D Havent read it myself as I don't buy crazy but can't wait to look at my friend's copy at class tonight- right am off to sleep now as am cobfusing myself as to which day it is:rotfl:Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -

Hello and welcome
Is that the 12 Days with lots and lots of gold round the borders?
If it is then I have it as a UFO (since 2006 lol, I have a pic somewhere) it's a lovely piece but the metallic gold put me off - I would suggest you swop the DMC stuff for a Kreinik gold thread, it will make your life so much easier. I wish I'd known before I started, it mightn't have become a UFO :rotfl:
My kids like to pull the needle through as well....my DD (3) used to say 'peek-a boo' when the needle popped through, then she would grab it and pull it the rest of the way.:rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I think for the first time I am going to miss a challenge deadline - two days laeft and those flipping meerkats still have a way to go. Tbh I haven't actually looked at them for nearly a week
seem to have lost my motivation these days - maybe it's cos the kids have gone back to school and I have more to do.
Still - I don't need them till ChristmasCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Hi all,
Just realised I didn't set my challenge for Aug - well at least I haven't failed it !
So for Sept I'm going to finish a small daffodil UFO that Mum has given up on, plus at least one kokeshi doll picture that Soubrette;) me.
I've been planning some gardening for today but we've got such a chilly wind here this morning that I think I'll do something indoors (not the ironing nor washing floors )

I want to stitch my Christmas cards this year but I'm having a struggle finding some small but detailed charts/kits. I don't like the basic robins, snowmen etc, I want something a bit more challenging.
Can anyone recommend a book, kit, website etc please? I don't mind paying a few ££££s if it's something I can use every Christmas.
Thanks as always

I've spent the last few nights starting and getting on with the Grandparents Christmas present. I've now done 3 hearts and 2 hand prints so progressing quite well. Hopefully I'll have it finished by the end of September so I can get back to doing the Baby Express.
I'm considering doing some cards, I'm having physio twice a week and one of the physios leaves next week for Australia so I'm wondering if I'll be able to get something finished in time and what to do? I'd also like to do one for the other physio and my MW, but won't need those until Christmas time, but would still need to decide what to do.
I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed cross stitching, and its nice to be able to see the progress each night especially as I'm unable to achieve so little of anything during the day because of my pain and trying to keep up with DS and DH.0 -

Good Morning everyone, hope you're all enjoying the Bank Holiday? It's actually nice and sunny here in Dorset
I haven't posted for a while but have been checking up on everyone's progress. Later on I will take a progress photo of my HAED and post. Since June I have been busy with work and have actually started driving lessons (for anyone who knows me this is a BIG think as I have always said I would NEVER do it!) so my stitching has taken a back seat. However the last week I have been putting in a lot of hours on it and I'm pleased with my progress.
A migraine earlier put paid to any stitching before everyone got up but at least it gave me time to get my kitchen clean and tidy. Flashing lights from migraine now gone so may just go and do a couple of hours on Garnet.
Catch you all later.£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -
Louise - it's this one - I hope it looks as good as this when it's finished.
It's a Margaret Sherry design.
My Lavendar & Lace has a crazy amount of gold in it, it's the reason I bought the chart though, I like sparkly things.Proud to be dealing with my debts
