Wow you are all so talented

Can I pick your brains please, I would like to do a cross stitch for my new nephew or niece when they are born but it has to be a neutral design as they don't want to find out the sex before the birth and I would like to get most of it done in advance

Any ideas? Any suggestions gratefully received thanks

    Fantastic sewing everyone ! :T:T

Congrats to Louise and 23rdspiral, lovely pieces of work

I too am envious of the speed that you sew
Louise ... I am not even going to finish the first page of my Astronomer, never mind get half-way through the second! Oh well, I will post how far I have got on Friday/Saturday, as well as the other mini-profects I have bene doing the past week.

Still to finish the card for a birthday on Friday (going out for a birthday lunch that day), so must stop and get stitching!!

Sorry I've not been about much for a while. Will catch up with posts & reply as soon as I can. Just been too busy with jury service during the day, then too tired when I get home. Hugs to you all. :)

kezbabybabe I love the tiger and the elephant cross stitch .. yeah I know they are nothing to do with babies but might try them for me :D

I love the safe in my arms birth sampler, but think all those greys might get a bit boring. I must decide soon thanks for your help

Feel we have all been a bit stressed lately (with organising the big quilt and the nasties coming in). SO here is a wee funny for you all.

U KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2010 when...

    1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave..

    2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

    3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

    4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you...

    5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

    6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

    7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.

    8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

    10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.

    11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )

    12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

    13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

    14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

    15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list.

AND NOW U R LAUGHING AT YOURSELF

    Kind wishes

    sweetcarer ;)

LOL thanks Sweetcarer, that made me laugh. I giggled most at number 6, I usually phone OH in the supermarket to find out where he's wandered off to. What did we do before mobiles and email :rotfl:
:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:

    Hi everyone

Thanks so much for all your encouraging posts and pms, I seriously hadnt realised how valued I was on here and it meant a lot. Yesterday I felt pretty down about it all, especially that someone followed me into here (I have now posted a reply to them on the pet forum where it belongs) and spent pretty much all day sleeping, i even felt too down to stitch but I cant let people ruin something I enjoy, I have lost too much of my life and not willing to lose this too.

    April Challenge Completed :j

Stealing the Moon, HAED started on 19th March 2010

Here it was at the beginning of April before we started the April Challenge:

My daughter wanted in on this one, :rotfl: gives an idea of the scale:

Louise I cant believe how quick you have stitched this! Your daughter is so pretty, did she put purple on intentionally?!! I think the colours look much better than expected and much better than some of the other dud ones that people have found on here.
    Hiya Ladies,
I do regular follow this thread, and have never posted on it before!
I have just gotten back my stitchy thread, and have blogged about it if you fancied a read! I am also a card maker to! :) I was just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a good wesbite for 14 count irridescent aida (Looking for white, blue, pink and maybe green!). Thanks and looking forward to talking with you all xx

Welcome to the thread babyfreckes. I just had a look and if you search opalescent on ebay they have some there for reasonable prices. I think sew and sew have some too.

Update: I thought i should show you my kitchen motto. i hope you like it.

i figured it out myself, so be easy on me, but i would like your opinions on whether i should add a border or another 2 little pictures? thanks. :o
please dont be offended, yes its a bit of a take off of 'what would jesus do?' or 'Elvis' for that matter, and when i eat meat it's with the greatest of respect.

it's what i find myself saying on looking at the random things in my fridge!

here's it on my cook book shelf with Delia, Hugh and Madhur Jaffrey!

I think your kitchen motto is great! well done for designing it yourself. I know when I designed one for my surrogate grandma I felt more proud of it because it came from me. congratulations!

Sweet Carer I loved the list, really made me laugh and I did exactly what it said about number 9!!

Right Im off to do some stitching as done nothing for a couple of days.
