Louise, I was telling my mum about HAED'S after seeing the motherhood design and telling her how I love their designs now but I wouldnt have the patience and to prove it to her I showed her your Lady. She has fallen in love with it! She said i did nice things but yours was stunning (made me feel really loved!!! haha) and you must feel amazing now it is finished and you can look at it and say you made something so amazing. Now she is at me to do it for her birthday but I cant tell her I cant because I am aleady doing one! Just told her I cant manage to do ones that hard which i true. Its hard with the one for her birthday, I can only do it in my room at night or when she is out. Im up to nearly 4 every night as its the only way I can get it done without her seeing! Going to start the treble clef which was kindly donated on here this weekend, normally I only do one project at a time but not stitching during the day is annoying me! Anyway thought you might like to know it is stunning!

That is a lovely design Bubbles.

I did a gorgeous miribilia lady but for some reason the fabric ran out before the stitches so it is sitting in the box until I can figure out what to do about it. I was so upset after a year of stitching it I put it away about 10 years ago and although I take it out and look at it every so often I still don't know how to fix it.

Still finding more HAED's that I want so I'm going to step away from the computer for a while and try to do a bit of Lickle Ted.

    xxxx

I thought I was going to have the same problem, as they are stitched on evenware and so far I have only stitched on Aida which is bigger I was convinced it wasnt going to fit. I counted the stitches before I started just in case and it fits just - I am going to have to add fabric to the top and bottom for framing though.

My parents have just given me £20 instead of an easter egg and because I am picking them up from a night out next week instead of them getting a tax so I have just bought this:

    http://www.sewandso.co.uk/ran549-0.html

I got the multipack so they can click together and hold my angel. I was kindly donated a wooden frame on here but the angel wont fit so using that one for the treble clef. Im chuffed to bits with the frames, cant wait for them to arrive.

What's the 'afghan' I keep seeing mentioned? I am imagining an alphabet of afghan dogs?!? :o

    LOL

For anyone who is wondering about an afghan...here's one I did earlier (Very Blue Peter, eh?) :rotfl:

This is one I did for my children, I have added their names. DOB and Birth dates along the top edge. I hope this will become a family heirloom and more babies names will be added in the future :o

This is a smaller one (well, not smaller, just a heck of a lot less detailed lol)which became a UFO 2 years ago - I'm going to complete it for my sister, who is due her first baby next month :)

LOL - she has more of a reaction than my own did!! (Mine looked and said 'oh yes...very nice' not really her style of design):o

Seriously though, I wouldn't recommend you try one like that just yet. It's not that it's difficult, it's just that it can get a bit...well..tedious. Just tell her it would take over a year to do but you 'might' attempt it in the future ;)

She is going to LOVE the one you are doing for her anyway, so any lake pictures will be well forgotten about when she sees all the work you are putting into doing something so special :j

OMG, just looking at the Gallery on the HAED website and the Motherhood with baby QS is on there in black and white. It looks stunning. Not sure which one to get now, really want one and if I use the credit card it won't actually need paying for until next month.

Please, someone rein me in quick!!!

    xxx

    I can't rein you in...I'm terrible...I would buy it.....:o:D

    Afternoon all

Well I have finally been on the express frames website and ordered a frame for my "forest light" and hubbies "owl" -*cue lost of tutting n clucking whilst I tried to decide which profiles and what coloured mount*
Im rather impressed as the 2 came to about £55 inc P+P ...and I didn't have the cheapest either :o -that bleepin frame I had made for mums "in her garden" I did for Xmas was €52 :eek:and it was NAFF ...so flimsy, backed with cardboard not hard board ... So I will wait n see what they are like when they arrive :T...I also have to sew the beads onto my celtic lady now (I have the frame for her) ..but I was excusing myself from doing it until my wadding arrived from mum ...well its here now so I really should get the beads on and get her in her frame and up on the wall :p

Harley ...r-e-s-i-s-t ..... r-e-s-i-s-t :rotfl:-coming from me its a bit rich I know..:rotfl:Don't forget that I have ordered 4 HAE quick stitches if you are *interested* ...and I have the "forest light" one I have done ;)

*Louise* -those afghans are lovely...but is that a real babies head I see peeping out of the bottom of the 1st one? :rotfl:

Well my mum is now working on her "stitch -a-photo" apparently its really emotional as its a picture of my sis (the one we lost 18 months ago) -it was taken at my wedding and mum is loving it as she has done the lips and chin and it is really obvious who it is ...although bless mums socks as she "feels like she is sticking the needle in sis's face" :o

Anyway -I had better get back and get on with some sewing :T

It's going to be such a great piece when it's finished though

Hi everyone..so sorry I haven't been around for a while, very stressed at work and suffering terrible migraines so stitching has been on hold for 2-3 weeks although I have nipped on here every few days for an update on the work in progress.

Everyone seems to be doing really well whether your projects are big or small so well done!

I've got 10 days off work starting today so I'm relaxed and stitching is back on ..whoo hoo :j managed 4 hours this afternoon!
I obviously haven't made much progress on my piece but I will update on monday with a pic and by then hopefully I will have finished page 1 of nine!

Just to remind you this is what I'm doing (mine looks nothing like it yet!)

    Hi Gang

Hope all are well - sorry to hear about your migraines PM. I have had them since I was 18 (jings nearly half a lifetime ago now!). I take daily meds to help control them. Not had a full blown attack for ages.

I am now off work till Tuesday so hopefully get some stitching done. It is a wee bit monotonus with the confetti stitching feel like I am not doing much. Part of me wants to throw it in basket and do something else.

    Kind wishes to all

    sweetcarer ;)
