An Afghan is a type of blanket. Usually stitched with lots of small pictures rather than one large one. Therefore they are well suited to stitching alphabets, and are often done as gifts for a new baby.

Mummipig, are any of your HAED charts for a stocking? I'd like to have a good look at a stocking chart and maybe stitch one.

OMG, just looking at the Gallery on the HAED website and the Motherhood with baby QS is on there in black and white. It looks stunning. Not sure which one to get now, really want one and if I use the credit card it won't actually need paying for until next month.

Please, someone rein me in quick!!!

Hi guys, how do you all remember what you want to say to people? I have just read 3 pages and cant remember half of the posts I wanted to reply to!

The design I am doing is below:

    md65.jpg

    http://www.mirabilia.com/crossStitchFrames/md65.html

and is quiteo large and daunting. I have gone a couple of stitches wrong somewhere in the middle and have lost 2 stitches but for the life of me cant find where. Not sure whether to unpick it all and start again or try and convert it into the design. My Dad is quite crafty himself and enjoys painting and making bits and bobs so he had a head start on getting it converted - I didnt even know you could convert patterns into a different colour, I have always just done it exactly as said unless its a small design like the butterflys I did.

A lot of people commented on the frames I did, if anyone would like the pattern and instructions let me know. All you need is the aida, 10 thread colours, 3 small bits of aida, 3 small bits of wadding, some white card and some ribbon. Oh and a tiny bit of velcro. I can scan them in on my mums machine if anyone wants.

I have never really heard of HAED's before until Louises Lady but the more are posted here the more I like them but I dont know if I would have the patience to do a proper design like that when it is all covered, I think I would find it monotoneous (sp) and have afurther nervous breakdown!

My dog is currently lying his head on my keyboard and letting out a occasional wine telling me he wants his dinner so better go. Sorry if I missed replying to anyone, as I said at the beginning I am finding it hard to remember everything!

That is a lovely design Bubbles.

I did a gorgeous miribilia lady but for some reason the fabric ran out before the stitches so it is sitting in the box until I can figure out what to do about it. I was so upset after a year of stitching it I put it away about 10 years ago and although I take it out and look at it every so often I still don't know how to fix it.

Still finding more HAED's that I want so I'm going to step away from the computer for a while and try to do a bit of Lickle Ted.

I have quite a lot of carousel designs - individual horses mainly (including the Teresa Wentzler four seasons carousel horses), but one lovely one of a full carousel. Does that sound like the kind of thing you're after?

    They sound perfect :j:j
