Thanks ellie - I think it's the thought that it's so near the end that is spurring me on :)

Big thank you to Eric's Mum for emailing those charts - the miners was the first one I wanted to do for my Nan (my grandad was a miner and he died last year) so I was so pleased that was one of the ones you sent. Going to do that alongside my next HAE project.

    Hi Gang

Here is the long awaited X for everyone - it was for xeronema.

I have also did some work on the four outer squares. I have also had the graph paper out working out the text for outer squares - 2 will have butterflies and 2 will have text.

Hope all is well in you part of the world - looking forward to weekend when I hope to order my golden earth/orange lady stuff.

    Kind wishes

    sweetcarer ;)

The Poor Knights lily (Xeronema callistemon) is endemic to the Poor Knights Islands and Taranga Island in the north of New Zealand. It was discovered in 1924. The Poor Knights lily has large bottlebrush flower clusters that grow horizontally. The clusters begin growing vertically and then bend sideways. Bright red flowers grow upward from the stalk, with bright orange pollen. The plant can reach a height of one metre tall and across

    Hi ladies.

    Everyone's projects are looking great!

In the last couple of days I can really see progress on my Rose flower fairy. I'll post a pic maybe on Monday, that will be 4 weeks since starting it. I'm concentrating on the largest rose at the moment so that I can do the backstitch on it. I really can't bear to do all the backstitching at once so am trying to do it as I go along :o

Showed it to hubby tonight.....bear in mind he has no interest in my stitching AT ALL....do you know what he said? No? Well I'll tell you.....he said, and I quote.... ''What is it? A cat?''

I swore a little then sulked while he laughed at how easy I am to wind up :rotfl:
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

  • Whoop, we're all making really good progress. I'm just moving onto sheet 3 out of 4 on santa. I'll post a picture tomorrow. I'm off work at the moment (long story) but it does mean that I've got a lot of stitching and allotment time for the moment.

Shelly, don't worry about your husband. Mine knows full well what my project is but likes to hold it at different angles to see if he can see anything else in it! I think it's just a man thing.

Sweetcarer and Louise, you're both doing so well and so near to finishing. I'm inspired and I want to finish sheet 3 of santa before I have to go back to work (in about 2 weeks)

  • Hello :)

I was hoping someone could help...I've seen in hobbycraft some coasters & tea pot stands that you can put a cross stitch in, I'm not sure what they are called. Where is the cheapest place to buy that kind of thing from? I wanted to make some as gifts.

    Many thanks
  • Just to add I don't need a kit as I have loads of threads etc, I just need the plastic thing. Many thanks
