an old lady in her 80's once said to my sister "aye ye can tell a well loved bairn, look at the love and the work thats gone into the knitting"

think that sums up what we are all trying to achieve its not just about saving money but putting something of ourselves into each and every item.

For two years now I've been wanting to make hampers for Christmas but for different reasons, time has never been on my side. This year, however, I'm going for it.:money: I'd love to join in with crafting, if that's ok. I did quite a lot of Christmas crafts with the kids last week and really enjoyed it and am so looking forward to creating lovely presents for next year....

I think I might start with making some felt mini stockings to put in hampers (with a choccie bar tucked inside).....

Please does anyone have a link to the knitted facecloths? Thanks sheyo

think i seen it on here a couple of pages ago, hand warmers, bed warmers, basically you just make a pocket fill with rice sew up and throw in microwave for a couple of mins (will try 30 seconds bursts to begin with) but i will scent it with lavender or something, the bed warmer was more like a runner/draught excluder shape with seperate compartments to run along the bottom of your bed, for the teddy i will fill the body with rice.

cath kidson sale on line but still quite expensive, laura ashley too and as for the caustic soda it will just be a case of looking as i think your best bet will be possibly little independant ironmongers or chemists as you need the stuff that hasnt been diluted with any other ingredients.
