  • Ooh me please:j I have been so bogged down for the last couple of christmas's with sock monkey orders that I didn't get to do all the stuff I wanted to do  So next year I'm not taking anymore orders after mid November so I can concentrate on my own crafty stuff:D Of course I will be doing bits and bobs through the year again;)

But my new years resolution is to only spend my precious time and money making gifts for people who I'm fairly sure will appreciate them (not very ungrateful MIL:mad:)

I had a lovely time this year making home made gifts and the hamper I made for my mum and dad went down really well. Unfortunately my brothers didn't arrive but fingers crossed they will have something nice for between Christmas and new year.

So I'm in to see what ideas I can get for 2010!
Im also keen to try out some soap making but using pre made soap bases rather than messing around with caustic soda. I`m planning on doing soap cupcakes in silicone cases with soap roses on the top.

I've been thinking about giving this a go for a while and think I will do it this year.

I was also very pleased with the reindeer wreath the little one and I made and would like to make some more home made decorations..

Going to have a go at making salt dough decorations.. in plenty of time for Christmas so they can be enjoyed to the maximum.

I'd also like to have a go at making dried fruit decorations.

Ohh and ideas for making Christmas cards for next year.. I really wanted this years done early but didn't manage it as early as I wanted.. I tend to make all my cards the same so it's a bit easier.. and I don't need to think of as many ideas.
Trying to make a better life.... If you need me you'll find me at the allotment.
  • has anyone got any pics of crafty things they have been making im useless at getting ideas.xxx

Watched and stole few ideas on 2009 thread- made pots of gold and journals for christmas this year. Really want to get more crafty and plan to make as many presents for next year as I can. I have a birthday in January and people are asking for ideas- any suggestions as what would be good pieces of kit to get me started?

i would like to join in as well. I was sitting watching tv earlier and my mind was wondering what i could get everyone next year. Last year everyone got flannel reindeers, and this year tea bag cards so need something to work on for next year. Will keep popping back in and try to do things throughout the year

Here, here :D I feel the same regarding inlaws, I didn't make anything that took me ages but not to even get a thank you is not nice and I made them all a lovely Boxing Day meal too...still no thank you...will be buying them something cheap and nasty next year

I hope to cross stitch some presents next year as I love to stitch but had no time to do any this year so want to make the time to stitch in 2010, got lots of projects I'd like to do :D

  • I'd like to join this thread too. I knitted a few scarves, hats, mug cosies this year... made a few bookmarks... bits of jewellery... hm card sets... hm xmas decs from das model clay... hm pot pourii... got a bit busy in the kitchen with xmas cakes etc for people.

All hm items went down very well. In fact my favourite gift was off my sil, a beautiful quilt she'd made. I loved all my hampers and hm gifts I received, and I think the economic climate has made this xmas lovely- people have had to think hard about what people would like to receive and either make it or buy cheaper but much more thoughtfull.
